We are the Bach is a gorgeous cafe in Broadway Market offering a selection of delicious dishes. The menu is driven by their own personal experience of food intolerances so they fully cater for gluten free diets as well as veggie and vegan. They are strong advocates of all things East London so locally based suppliers are also big part of their philosophy. By the way, a bach (pronounced ‘batch’) is a small often very modest holiday home or beach house in New Zealand!

The interiors are light and stripped back which makes brunch a lovely experience. There are also a variety of sweet and savoury treats available to take away from the counter.

We kicked off the weekend with two mimosa’s (£6) which were served with such fresh orange. Probably the best mimosa’s I have had!

It was hard to choose from the brunch menu as it all sounded so good. We ended up opting for a vegan choice of Spicy sweet potatoes, falafel, hummus and avo with toast, chilli jam, peppers and courgette (£9.9). This was a healthy, filling and wholesome breakfast. The chilli jam was particularly delicious!

We also had the Gluten free pancakes with Canadian maple syrup (£8.2) with blueberries (+£2) and smoked bacon (+£3). We were presented with three tasty pancakes which actually had blueberries in! My only preference would have been a little more syrup (although I didn’t ask and I am sure they would have accommodated my request).

We are the Bach is a great cafe in Broadway Market for brunch, breakfast, coffee and / or cake! The staff were lovely, atmosphere was relaxed and the food was tasty. They also have a branch in Hoxton if you are...

I went there for brunch. The place looks halfway hipster, and this scared me a bit because it usually means higher prices and smaller portions. I wasn't wrong on the prices being a bit high but I was happy with the portions. The menu is full of gluten free, veggie, vegan (etc) options and they seem to have alternatives for more or less every dietary intolerance on the planet. I had a simple ham and cheddar toastie with a slice of cake and a cappuccino. I enjoyed all of them, and considering how bad these things usually are in hipster-ish places this was a total surprise. One of my friends was very happy with his vegetarian breakfast and smoothie. Unfortunately my wife and the other friends were unhappy with their breakfast. The bill came to about £15 a person for a main and a drink; as I said, it's a tad expensive. The staff is very friendly. I would recommend this place if you are into free-from food and if you like hipster-ish food. I started with low expectations because of the vibe but ended up quite happy. I'll give it 4 stars just out of my wife's comments about her pancakes, that apparently are neither sweet nor savoury, making them not...

I have always walked past The Bach but never went in. However, today, my husband and I treated ourselves to a breakfast menu accompanied by our son at the Bach, and it was a lovely experience.

We had the full and veggie breakfast, and everything on our plate was lovely along with latte. The staff were super friendly, and they looked after us and made my son extra special even though we had already had his breakfast at home. Simple touches such as giving us some water to drink while eating even though we didn't ask for it and a nice smoothie for my son to drink were really nice gestures. This made my day. My husband was impressed with the food as well as the gestures.

We will come back again soon as the atmosphere is lovely with nice artist paintings on the wall and reasonable food prices. Thank you so much for a...

Very cozy contemporary style cafe with seating, beautiful back garden space and front terrace space. I ordered an iced matcha latte and an almond croissant. Matcha was a bit oxidised and small glass. Croissant was very big but the filling tasted very bitter. Like you were eating PVA glue with sugar. Tried to work for a bit there but there wasn't enough plugs to go around each table unit. Maybe a nice place for a casual coffee meet up and brunching during summer at the back garden. Great to visit if you're in the area. Maybe switch up the croissant supplier you use!

We were in broadway market to have brunch at another place but couldn’t find a seat so we give The Bach a try and I’m so glad we did. Staff were super friendly and nice they gave us a table in the garden which was suitable as we had our kids with us. Food was delicious, we tried different dishes, french toast which was the best and very delicious, eggs royal which was good as well, avocado on toast and the chicken and avocado sandwich which was a little disappointed. Their sunshine smoothie is a must to try taste so good. Definitely will become a regular.
