Buen Ayre — Restaurant in London

If you’re looking to dine somewhere with a drunk, arrogant restaurant owner, this is the perfect place for you.

I won’t be coming back here & wouldn’t recommend you going either.

————————————————————— I am editing this review in response to the pathetic response I just got back (see below). This is comedic and everyone reading can enjoy it.

Here is the full story;

We dined in with 4 people, with 1 person being a vegetarian (all sober). We were the last people to walk in literally 5 min before closing. The legend chef was very generous allowing us to place an order last minute. The only vegetarian items on the menu were unavailable. The chef already started cooking the meat so we politely asked the staff if it was possible for our vegetarian friend to bring another dish from somewhere else. They staff member kindly said YES. (They were closed and not taking anymore orders) Once the person brought in the food and was 3/4 of the way through eating it. The drunken owner stumbles out and started abusing our friend for eating a vegetarian dish from somewhere else, even though the staff had told us we could. He continued to behave unsavourily towards us whilst embarrassing himself. We said we wouldn't be coming back again in which he replied with "I don't care, I'm happy for that to happen". His own staff members apologies and were embarrassed saying things like “that was really inappropriate, that was unacceptable”. We still paid for our meals and left.

His comment on my initial review shows how’s stubborn and pathetic he is. If the staff member said we couldn’t bring in a vegetarian pizza from next door we obviously wouldn’t have.

Actually! If you are just looking for FANTASTIC food, service and atmosphere then Buen Ayre is the place to be.

It was recommended by a lovely couple we met whilst walking on our date night away from the kids 😊 and what a great recommendation.

The location was great, close to the train station and local bus routes. The food was freshly cooked in view of the dinning area by an amazing chef. The service was quick, attentive and done with a lovely smile. Everything was well priced and you got LOADS for your money as you can see from the pics 😍 Our food and drinks came out quick and although it was a fully booked restaurant we were still catered for as walk in’s. Our lovely waitress even gave us the history of the restaurant, her own personal background and spoke about how they all worked as a family, which was evident from the quality of service.

I was really torn between giving this place 3 or 4 stars. I decided to go for 3 in the hope that the owners notice the criticism, as I think this is potentially a really nice restaurant. Let’s start with the positives: substantially, this restaurant is good because the food is good and very well priced. We tried different cuts of meat and both were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The meat was high quality. They have a large selection of well priced wines, the one we tried was very good and inexpensive. So with regards to food and wine, this restaurant does well. Also a special mention goes to the kind service. However the restaurant does fall short in terms of the setup and atmosphere. While I appreciate an unassuming location, this restaurant is really not cozy or welcoming in the way it looks and feels. There was loud electronic music on all the time and it’s just a downer. The seating arrangement is not the most comfortable. I think the restaurant could benefit from a few small changes to make it feel more comfortable...
