After finally pulling the trigger after years of working in the neighborhood, I am very very disappointed in these overpriced pies. I was expecting so much given it is part of luxurious hotel chain Rosewood and at 13-14Ā£ a pie, it better be amazing. However for me it tasted average at best. We tried both the chicken tarragon and the potato dauphinois. My biggest problem is that their pastry tasted sugary and sweet which was a bit odd, chicken was stale, very little mushroom sauce. Wouldnāt have the chicken pie if you paid me to eat it. The potatoe one was nicer but still would not reorder. Canāt believe they charge people 26Ā£ for these if you sit inside! Now we also tried the sausage roll and that was quite decent. However it was just too big and i became nauseous at the end. Priced at 9Ā£ its slightly more reasonable.
Service: the lady there was very friendly but took about 3min to pack each pie for each customer so imagine when I realised I was fifth in line. Yes the packaging is nice but some speed would be appreciated.
Conclusion: very disappointed, wouldnāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe booked this as treat for my wifeās birthday. Upon arrival the team were taking negatively about each other! We were then placed in an empty section at the back of the restaurant and assured that other customers would join the area.
I can only describe it as ghostly! With all the other customers at the front on the restaurant, to be honest the atmosphere wasnāt fantastic anywhere in the restaurant! We then had to ask to be moved as no one came as promised as we where just sat their alone!
The only atmosphere was coming from a party in the hotel courtyard! Americans from the music industry, I believe? Anyway, not only did they make rude comments at my wife as she when to the loos, but argued and shouted throughout our whole meal! (Btw.. they where your guests, not mine)
So to sum up our experience!
Awful! This is not a cheap venue and with a premium price, you expect premium service!
At this price! Book...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had been really looking forward to visiting this restaurant after seeing on masterchef. The welcome on arrival was good and friendly and as we were early we elected to have a drink in the bar first. The bar service was quick and good. We were shown to our table, and our waitress was friendly, attentive throughout. For starters 2 of us had scotch eggs, 1 the grilled prawns and 1 burrata, they were all nice but nothing memorable. We then had the main 1 vegetarian pie 1 chicken 1 mutton and 1 halibut, we all felt that all of the dishes were lacking in seasoning, were not boiling hot and lacked the wow we were anticipating, the pastry however was very good. Desert we had 2 Paris brest, which were delicious and best part of the meal and 2 sticky toffee which were nice. Overall with the cost of the drinks and the 15% service charge we were all disappointed and...
