Best burritos in London, hands down. One of the only chains that offers halal chicken (pibil) to cater for wider audience and the portion size/price ratio is phenomenal - great value. Spend the few pennies extra and get a large burrito over medium. Also, most people may not be aware, but I always mix my rices (Mexican and coriander) and beans (black and pinto) so that you get the best possible flavour combo - staff friendly enough to accept this generally, but don't be put off by them giving you choice of one or the other. Always get all garnishes too - cheese, salsa, lime, pickle, lettuce etc and all sauces. These are all the free toppings, they have paid extras too which won't add much to the meal. I'd recommend a bag of hot tortilla chips on the side as an addition, but be aware that these are baked, not fried (would've preferred fried). Queue management very quick and efficient and they offer NHS discount if you're eligible. Seating inside is very limited in this branch but the piazza at Euston station generally has enough seats. If you're a first timer, definitely try the burritos before the tacos. Soft tres tacos (3) nice too, but it's all about the burritos at tortilla. Highly recommended for all Mexican food...
Read more2 starts because the food is nice and my kids actually eat it. I didn't give anymore because the staff didn't seem to know about the 'kids burrito' which I always get for my children at other Tortilla locations. It is basically a burrito with no more than 3 toppings, I asked several times and they kept saying all they have is Medium or large burrito, they even seemed puzzzled themselves when my children only chose rice, chicken and cheese as they toppings (they don't like anything else) and the staff faces were like 😳, is that all?? Yes, that's all, that's why is a 'kids burrito' which costs £3. At Tortilla Westfield Stratford we always get it, they know at the till, I don't even have to ask for it, whereas at Euston today they didn't have a clue. Maybe it isn't entirely the staff fault, and they really just don't have it at this location, but it is still very disappointing to pay £17.75 to 2 burritos with 3 toppings each, seriously no beans, no sauces, no sweetcorn, no tomatoes...just the tortilla wrap with rice, chicken and cheese! I should have gone to Pret and grab them...
Read moreUnfortunately the person I first was served by was quite short with me and not very attentive, rushing me despite no queue. Then when I went to pay the price was different from what the menu said. When I pointed it out, the team-member did not explain the situation, and simply said the menu is wrong. I then mentioned they need to change it to match the till as they should not be charging a different menu then advertised. The team member was quite rude just saying the manager is behind me. The manager said nothing to me.
I have not put zero stars here as the other team member noted the issue and apologised to me, explaining the menu technology was not allowing them to change the menu.
Still only one star as they did still charge me a higher price than the menu, and did not aim to resolve or make up for the inconsiderate initial encounter. In the future they should aim to communicate this before the customer placed an order, to ensure the customer doesn’t feel confused or as they are being charged for the wrong thing.
Thank you to the team member who was considerate- five...
