My partner and I have always loved Waga’s. It safe to say we were very disappointed today. It is the worst branch we have been to and that’s on a global level.
Service on arrival was good, I informed them of my gluten allergy when waiting to be seated and was handed a gluten free menu straight away. We were allowed to pick our seats which was lovely.
When seated it took a while for someone to serve us and then call over the manager to take my allergy order. Manager was very swift.
We were told drinks will come but they never showed (only 2 glasses of tap water). We asked again twice for our drinks but they never came (we think they were bought to the table beside us by accident). We ended up drinking from our water bottles because we were thirsty and had no water provided. Food came in decent time but it took a while after food to arrive for someone to come and deliver our drinks.
My food wasn’t pleasant, part of it was lukewarm and the other part was stone cold. However I continued eating as I was really hungry. My chicken and prawn pad Thai tasted really bland and had a weird coating over it (I think the eggs were cooked weirdly and created a really odd texture). At the end of the meal which I couldn’t finish, I didn’t feel very good. No more than 2 minutes after leaving did I start to have a reaction to what I had eaten. Whatever they cooked for me which was noted down by the manager that I had a gluten allergy had either been cooked with gluten or cross contaminated. BIG RED FLAG.
From observation of the table we were sitting at, we weren’t the only people unhappy. The staff were walking around like they didn’t care and weren’t bothered to do their jobs apart from the lovely lady who sat everyone at their seats. The family sitting next to us received a child’s dish well after the rest of the family had finished. A couple at the end of the table didn’t get served until 20 minutes after us and they had been sitting there before us and also weren’t handed their menus until after we had ordered. Their food took ages to arrive and then one plate had to be sent back because the order was wrong. The couple next to us also didn’t have a good experience. With food not arriving and unhelpful staff.
It’s safe to say this wasn’t a good night for this Wagamamas branch. Someone needs to come and sort it out as unhelpful staff create unhappy customers. You could tell the staff were disorganised.
But a reaction to food allergy should NOT have happened especially when the manager herself came over to take the order. Cold chicken and prawns should also not have happened.
Please sort all of this out so others don’t experience the same thing, especially when allergies...
Read moreI’m the regular customers of wagmama. I just wanna give a some feedback because I love the place. Today I came with my girlfriend and was waiting outside but wasn’t that busy to be honest and they have more then 15 waiters at last and they are looking at us but no one coming to us. Well someone came after 15 minutes and she give us a table and we was waiting for 40 minutes and I was trying to speak with one of the waiters but they looking at me and I’m waving at them but they just Smile at me and that’s it. And then I get up and went to one lady to ask if the manger working today and she was okay I will send the manager to your table just take sit. Well The manger came and was like ( what happened ) so disrespectful and I told her the problem and instead of saying sorry or anything she was like I don’t think so you was waiting for 40 minutes and I will send some to you now and then she just went and I was so ma’am what’s your name she didn’t say anything back. Well after we order the food everything was fine the food was so delicious as usual but the manger attitude was so rude and bad and I hope the area manger take the action about this because I love this place and I will be happy if the store manger be nice to customers at least. And take care of the customers not to just look at the customers and obviously if it’s busy tell the customers that sorry we’re lit bit busy but someone will be with you soon...

Read moreSo I decided to go by Wagamama today with my partner to grab some lunch . I ordered the katsu chicken hot ; tea ; crispy squid The katsu chicken was indeed tasty and worth the money . The crispy squid was very oily and a chewy and I barely ate it as it taste outright nasty My partner ordered another chicken dish (forgot the name but picture bellow ) . His dish came 2 minutes after order which in itself was a red flag . As soon as he took a bite he spat it out cause the whole plate was cold , the chicken tasted old and the food seemed to have been laying for a while and was just given to us anyways . We complained and he got a new order which was better . After finishing our meal we brought the issue up with the general manager and I must say although he comped our crispy squid, the service still could’ve been better . The manager explained how everything is just reheated and how our “problem” has been solved as he got a new order and comped the squid but I felt like the approach was rather aggressive in communicating with us rather than apologetic for the mistake . All in all the expletive could’ve been better . It might’ve been a one off mistake but it left me displeased as I review and places and enjoy tasting different restaurants and promoting them .
