We had our team Christmas meal here and it was great. It was very close to the office and had a good menu so was an easy choice for us. Our lunch was set for 2pm and the table was available on arrival and the we had our food labels ready to go. We went for the 3 course apart from a few who joined on the day who had to go with their regular menu. The food was great with some great christmas selections in the menu and the portion sizes were huge. The extra veg for the table was a great add-on and the service was excellent. 3 stars due to the staff getting some dietary info very wrong for one of us. Apart from that, a great venue for Christmas lunch.

I've eaten here twice before, and both times it was excellent. This time I braved hosting the work Christmas party here - being the organiser it always puts a bit of pressure on. Thankfully all the food was again excellent - how many years have you had disappointing Christmas meals for work do's? Save yourself the disappointment next year, and book Wood Street. I've no idea that turkey could have that much flavour, plus the Neck Oil was actually tasty. Remember when Neck Oil was a good beer? Well, it still is here.

A really nice pub, selling a decent range of real ales. Tucked away in a corner of the Barbican complex, I'd not had any idea it was there, but found it in the Good Beer Guide. The back terrace has views of the Barbican development.

Genuine Review: Definitely the worst Pub in Britain!!! Absolutely awful customer service and extremely rude staff. Avoid at any cost!!! when we ordered food and drinks from our table, the food all came out at different times with one of us receiving her food when the other 4 of us had finished. I sent my food back twice as it was cold which still didn't come out hot. I've been to this pub twice but have to say my last visit will make it difficult to go back or recommend. Extremely poor quality pub, stinky tables and the pub manager was so rude and he has a pathetic behaviour towards customers. I saw him (wearing a blue floral awful shirt) literally shouting at few customers at the table. My stomach is upset now after eating horrible food at the pub. Lackluster food. Shame!!! My kind advice to the man in awful blue shirt is to go back to school and learn some manners as the way he was talking to all the customers was appalling, disgraceful & outrageous!!! Avoid this pub, the food was overpriced and not up to any standard and the service was atrocious. Stay away due to poor food standards and disgusting & stinky attitude from Pub's manager. This pub is a disgrace! I don’t think I will go back or recommend to others n evening out is meant to be relaxing not pure rudeness. If I did that as a frontline worker I would be out of a job very fast! I would like to give 0 stars, but unfortunately there is no option, hence gave 1 star!

Feedback 2: This is NOT a FAKE Review. There you go! You are such a liar, cooking up some filthy stories to defend your vicious actions. Your response to my review illustrates your mindset and behaviour. We are a group and we have been offended by your actions. and stop defending yourself with disgusting & pathetic response to my first feedback. Instead of apologizing for your pathetic & appalling behaviour, you are acting impertinent and gross. That explains your poignant character! I can get all my team members to provide a feedback regarding your pub if you want proof as they are all victims of your atrocious behaviour last Friday!

Feedback 3: This is so pathetic that you are still defending your vicious behaviours by lying as it looks like you are a filthy habitual liar. I still can't believe that people like you still exist in the society. I've got receipts to prove that we are a group and ordered food on Friday. Keep lying, you disgusting & filthy person!

Feedback 4: There you go! I'll be attaching proofs of my receipt soon to prove how big liar you are and look forward to more reviews coming up from my team members & colleagues who were victims of your vicious behaviour. Please stay away from this worst Pub...

That’s a great review! If you’re thinking of posting it somewhere like Google or TripAdvisor, here’s a slightly polished version to make it really shine:

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of the Barbican

Stumbled upon this amazing place by chance — one of those hidden gems you wish you'd discovered sooner! Nestled in the City of London, right in the heart of the brutalist Barbican Centre, it's brutal that I didn’t find it earlier. The food is fantastic, the beer selection is top-notch, and the atmosphere couldn’t be friendlier. Matt, the manager, is always around with a warm welcome, making sure everyone feels at home. It's definitely a spot worth returning to...

I was with the group which the below reviewer (nav) has commented upon and I can confirm that the incident did occur.

It was completely shocking that an establishment in today’s day and age could pass by with such behaviours.

Overpriced food and drinks. Absolutely stocking and sticky toilets.

And the person who (we think is the manager) was drinking with his mates in front of the counter and had the audacity to scream at us. We were w group of 15 celebrating our colleagues birthday and it was completely marred by this incident.

Lesson learnt. Never again stepping foot inside here. They’re a black spot in the otherwise amazing world of...
