A Slice of Greece in the Heart of London – Yayaca’s is Pure Magic
From the moment you step into Yayaca’s, you’re transported straight to a sun-drenched taverna on the shores of the Aegean. This isn’t just one of the best Greek restaurants in London—it’s an experience.
The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between rustic charm and modern elegance. Warm lighting, traditional Greek music humming softly in the background, and the friendliest team you could hope to meet—Yayaca’s immediately makes you feel like family.
But the food—oh, the food—is where the magic truly happens.
Every dish is a celebration of authentic Greek flavors. The grilled octopus is perfectly tender with a smoky char that melts in your mouth. The moussaka is a masterclass in comfort—layers of aubergine, spiced meat, and creamy béchamel baked to perfection. And don’t leave without trying the souvlaki—juicy, flavorful, and wrapped in the fluffiest pita you’ll ever taste.
Vegetarians will love their rich selection of traditional plant-based dishes, especially the gigantes plaki and spanakopita. And the desserts? The baklava is outrageously good—flaky, nutty, and just the right amount of sweet, paired beautifully with a strong Greek coffee or a shot of ouzo.
Service is warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You can tell the staff take pride in every plate that leaves the kitchen.
Whether you’re Greek and homesick or just a foodie in search of something unforgettable, Yayaca’s is a must-visit. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s a love...
Read moreWent there yesterday evening around 7pm and the restaurant was dead and empty, despite the rest of the surrounding area and bars/restaurants being full.
It later became clear why the place was empty as the food options were fairly small and not that tasty. To add salt to injury the restaurant manager that night decided to charge me twice for service charge, and I only realised they’d done this after having left the restaurant.
So if you’re eating here make sure you double check the pay terminal before you tap your card/phone!! THIS RESTAURANT IS RUN BY CROOKS WHO WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!
UPDATE FOLLOWING OWNERS RESPONSE — The restaurant staff should be trained to use the POS system appropriately. As you can see from the receipt the total charges for my items amount to £16.50 and if you were to include 12.5% service charge bringing my total to £18.56. The receipt clearly shows a payment of £32.50 charged to my account so I am unclear why there is an additional £15.10 worth of charges. I presume from the owners explanation this is the total service charge plus a bit more just because…..?! CROOKS WHO...
Read moreI stumbled across Yayacas by chance, and it ended up being one of those places that stays with you — not just for the food, but for the people. The moment you step in, there’s a warmth that hits you. It’s cosy, authentic, and you can feel the love that’s gone into every corner — from the décor to the menu.
The food is exactly what you want from Greek cuisine: fresh, simple in the best way, and full of flavour. But honestly, what made the experience stand out was the kindness and genuine hospitality. Everyone there was so welcoming, it almost felt like being looked after by family. The owner is especially lovely — warm, generous, and clearly passionate about what they’ve built here. You can tell they care, not just about the food, but about the people who walk through the door.
If you ever need a reminder that hospitality is an art — or just want proper Greek food that feeds your soul as much as your stomach — Yayacas is your spot. Will absolutely be...
