Beautiful new restaurant situated in a quiet residential area. Elegant inviting relaxing decor. We visited at 4 pm Sat after a visit to V&A it was a welcome relief from touristic South Kensington.
Although the restaurant was empty, from the onset, the service were very welcoming. Definitely service with a smile. Ash and Sachin (along with other staff) were friendly, engaging, attentive, and professional throughout our meal, conversing with us, checking in on us, but not in an intrusive way.
The menu is quite an Indian Asian fusion. Torn between the offerings and recommendations from Ash, we opted for the tantalising described salmon and Black prawn dish.
The dish was beautifully presented, on par with fine dining. It was colourful and bursting with different but yet complimentary flavours and textures. The salmon was cooked to perfection with a delicious sesame crust and prawns were flavoursome and juicy. The fennel shavings with a zesty, slight aniseed flavour was refreshing and really complementing the fish. While the honey, chill, pumpkin puree, and teriyaki sauce and pear offered a sweet sourness with just a hint of spice. Contrasting flavours that blended effortlessly together. #chefskiss
We paired this with basmati rice, an interesting and filling mango sticky rice and butter naan.
We just managed to squeeze in chocolant fondant. Again, beautifully presented. Decadent but not too sweet. The biscuit crumb under the ice cream offered a nice textural contrast.
After our delicious meal, we never felt rushed and was able to relax, enjoying the chilled ambience with our drinks (white wine and decently made whisky amarreto sours).
It was well worth the 28 min walk from V&A. It's definitely worth a visit. I will be back to try the revised menu.. Thank you....
Read moreFirst impressions of Yogi’s was once inside, it doesn’t look like a restaurant, more of a wine bar?!, that serves food. Went there with a friend and had to wait for a table, once seated and given menu & drinks menu we waited for someone to take our order. Drinks were given to us first and we waited a good 35/40 minutes before our food was delivered. My friend had the butter chicken, not bad but presented with no garnish other than a sloppy swirl of cream or whatever on top!. I had the lamb biriani which on the menu stated had apricot & raisins in the dish?…unless this had been added in the smallest size imaginable there simply wasn’t any sight or taste other than to much chilli or spices that killed the tender and enjoyable lamb included. The dish was stuffed inside a fairly unnecessary container with a lid on it, no garnish, and the rice crammed inside like a takeaway. There was no side dish with the buttered chicken such as rice, no vegetables inside the biriani or a traditional vegetable curry many other establishments would include at no extra charge. We had a side of garlic nan bread, while served warm it was burnt on the bottom and very greasy on top. With the usual unnecessary service charge included and the food coming to over £40, it wasn’t the best Indian food we’ve had or service !. Presentation & value with the food could be better and service standards. ( why were other customers given white table napkins but we were given cheap paper...

We went for dinner with family as it was right next to their Airbnb, not expecting much given it’s in a quiet, local area. But we were completely blown away. The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive and professional. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was fab.
The food was absolutely delicious. We loved the butter chicken, lamb chops, saag paneer and naan bread basket, which is such a good idea. Everything was packed with flavour and cooked perfectly.
We also really enjoyed the drinks. The mojito was spot on, the wine was lovely and the rose lychee martini was especially good. The drinks menu is great — loads of choice, including a mix of creative cocktails and the classics.
The atmosphere was cosy and relaxed, and the whole evening felt easy and enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back.
The only thing I’d mention is that the menu includes a few non-Indian dishes, which personally I’d trim down a little, just to let the Indian food shine. That said, I’m sure those dishes are great and even though we didn’t try any, they might be exactly what other diners are...
