Albert's Schloss brings a real taste of Oktoberfest to Manchester, and it's hard not to get swept up in the lively yet relaxed atmosphere. We went in the evening and the place was absolutely buzzing with people - it felt festive without being overwhelming. The live performance kicked off around 8pm, adding great energy to the night and making it feel more like an event than just dinner. Food-wise, we shared a platter for four that came piled high with pork knuckles, a variety of sausages, schnitzels, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and sauerkraut. The portion was generous and everything was cooked really well - hearty, comforting food that suited the setting perfectly. Drinks were another highlight, with an extensive selection of beers, wines, and cocktails to choose from. The beer in particular was spot on for the theme. Overall, Albert's Schloss is a great choice if you're after good food, plenty to drink, and a lively night out with a Bavarian twist.

We recently visited Albert’s Schloss and had a great time overall. The ambience was fantastic—vibrant, lively, and perfect for a fun night out. The decor and atmosphere really added to the experience, making it a great place to unwind. However, the service at the bar was quite slow. While we understand it can get busy, the bartenders took a long time to serve drinks, and one of them seemed a bit rude at times. A little more efficiency and friendliness would have made the experience even better. That said, the rest of the evening was enjoyable. The music, the crowd, and the overall vibe of the place were spot on. With some improvements in bar service, it would be an excellent spot for a night out.

Went on a Sunday around 3pm. Asked for a table - we were told half an hr. We said we would wait in the bar. But we were actually sitting at a very long table with very long benches and we found snout we could eat there - so we did. I had pork knuckle and hubby had the chicken with all the usually trimmings. On stage a couple were playing guitar and singing - then the residential Choir came on of which I think consisted of 6 singers and a guitarist (sorry if not 💯 actuate) they were amazing - all other own right. There were doormen and they were friendly too - great job. We had a really good afternoon. It was lively, friendly with great music, food and drink ….

Go to Black Lock instead, 2 mins away.

Poor food and service drama. Massive drop in quality, and unfortunate treatment from the staff.

Sunday beef roast with "potatoes and seasonal greens" turned out to be 3 thin slices of overcooked meat on a pile of blended mash, cabbage and exactly one (1) piece of broccoli 🥦. Nothing like it used to look like.

The beef was small enough that we didn't even have to cut it, literally 3 mouthfuls... It was like a piece of meat you put on a sandwich. Embarrassing.

The potatoes were clearly old and reheated, not crispy and extremely dry inside.

Then the service drama started: When the waiter came over and asked about the food, I mentioned to him the small size and lack of vegetables. He did mentioned the portion size changed due to complaints, and even offered an extra helping of beef and vegetables.

Great response and I felt relieved, because the issue was addressed and I accept the explanation of smaller portions.

Unfortunately, the promised meat never arrived, and instead we got an extra portion of potatoes, which this time, we're not warm at all. Apparently there was disagreement in the kitchen and it was not worth giving the customers extra portion of meat. Feels like we're living through the great depression. THE 6 slices was not worth to share! (Even though I was happy to pay extra, my wife was very hungry and I just wanted her to fill up)

Being absolutely starving, myself and my wife ate the little sad pile of steamed cabbage (potatoes were literally too dry to eat)

Another server came over immediately after we were finished, offering to take our plates away, despite my wife still having food on hers.

Now get this: No feedback asked despite some food (potatoes) was 99% untouched, no offer of coffee or dessert, nothing. We got our check and got the hell out of there... Hungry.

It's like the whole staff realized were not happy and just gave up on us as a lost cause.

One more thing, our table was right next to the back bar/kitchen area where a manager was standing and constantly looking in our direction, as we were leaving and passing him, there was no input despite prolonged eye contact, no thank yo,u no goodbye, no "what's wrong" just chin up high and looking back. Very very disappointed. My wife was very shaken by the experience, felt like we were being given a favour for eating there. Agree completely. Felt like I walked into someone elses party and was "by the way" given a scoop of food out of necessity.

I've been coming to AS for about 3 years regularly. Never coming back... You guys had problems, but nothing worth writing/complaining about, but today was too far.

Black Lock, the best beef you can get in UK, is 2 minutes away and their Sunday roast is 25 pounds. Vote with your wallets and...

Treated Unfairly and Felt Unsafe

Albert’s Schloss was once a place I looked forward to visiting for its live music and vibrant atmosphere, but my recent experiences left me feeling harassed, unsafe, and ultimately treated as if I was the problem when I was the victim.

On one occasion, I was persistently harassed by an individual who repeatedly invaded my personal space and, shockingly, forcibly kissed me on the cheek without my consent. This was an incredibly inappropriate and violating experience. When I expressed my discomfort, I was dismissed rather than supported.

On another visit, a group of patrons near me was relentlessly rude and invasive. Despite my best efforts to de-escalate the situation and move away, their behaviour continued. I felt deeply uncomfortable as they pushed into my space and tried to provoke a reaction. Yet, instead of addressing their inappropriate behaviour, I was approached by security and told to leave the venue. This left me feeling humiliated and unfairly blamed for a situation where I was clearly the victim.

Albert’s Schloss has always had great staff and talented performers, but these experiences were a stark contrast to the safe, welcoming environment I once appreciated. I hope management takes these incidents seriously, ensuring that no other guest is left feeling harassed or treated unjustly. No one should have to endure such experiences in a place meant for enjoyment.

Thank you, Monika, for taking the time to investigate this matter thoroughly. I appreciate your professionalism and the effort Albert's Schloss is putting into ensuring guest safety and resolving the situation.

I have updated my review accordingly and will check my email for further updates on the resolution. I am hopeful that this matter will be resolved in the best way possible for all parties involved.

Additionally, I trust that the video update I provided for the investigation regarding the events of Friday, 27th December 2024, will assist in clarifying the situation.

Albert’s Schloss has always stood out as a venue that values its customers, and I look forward to updating my review further to reflect the positive changes and commitment demonstrated throughout this process. Thank you again for your understanding and dedication.

Kind...

If you’re after the sweet stuff, go Albert’s Schloss...like NOW!

In a deceptively massive place in the centre of Manchester, Albert’s Schloss provides all sorts of menu options to tickle your fancy. It’s a lovely, airy place that is perfect for sit down meals or just chilling at their centre bar.

At the moment in time, they have an offer of 50% off the breakfast menu (not drinks) until the end of August and is only valid Mon-Thurs 8am-11.30am with advanced booking (excludes bank holiday). We’re so glad we used it because all we can say is Kronuts!

Our food intake for the day was; Veggie Royal Breakfast [£12] - A really good option for when you can’t decide which particular item you want as you get a bit of everything. We shared this, because we wanted to keep space for the sweet stuff. The bread was a little hard on the outside but was perfectly soft in the middle, and we believe all the bread is made in-house so imagine if it had just been fresh out of the oven. The veg black pudding was a bit random and didn’t have much of a taste. However, the sunny-side egg, potato rosti and smashed avocado was bravo! Brioche French Toast - Banana [£9] - Pure, sweet, sugary banana goodness. They definitely didn’t skimp on the banand and the maple syrup provides that sugary kick you didn’t know you were craving. Completely melts in your mouth and we’re still drooling over this now Kronut - Peanut Butter & Chocolate [£4] - Our table was situated right next to the table of sweet goodies, and boy, it made the choice difficult picking one. This was absolutely divine with the rich peanut butter being balanced out with the mellow chocolate. The perfect combination and we want it right now...gimme gimme gimme

Already planning our next trip to try out the other Cruffins & Kronuts available mmmmmmmm

Recommendation Rating: High Service: High Price: £ (with 50% offer) Halal: Vegetarian/...
