We ate here after the soft opening of the restaurant. The restaurant had good ambience, nice music (KPOP, decent selection) and good menu- although on the pricier side. To note: on the online website they advertise a lunch menu, this was not available on this day according to the staff, and they are unsure when it will be available as this is apparently for the chefs to decide.

We ordered beef bulgogi, sundubu and side of rice and the earl grey soju to drink. First, we did not know the sundubu came with rice as it was not mentioned in the menu. So we ordered extra rice and were shocked to see the meal came with a portion of rice…there are plenty of staff walking around but everything is ordered on a tablet and it also did not mention the inclusions with the sundubu. The beef bulgogi looked presentable and came in a steaming stone bowl. This was placed in front of me without the staff informing that the bowl was hot to touch- this could be quite dangerous if the person were to touch the bowls without knowing this information. The food tasted okay, not ridiculously good, but somewhere in the middle. The price reflects the new restaurant attempting to gain new customers with just slightly above mediocre tasting food. I would recommend the earl grey soju as this was a surprisingly tasty drink. The food we ordered was enough to fill your belly but still left you with the thought of something missing.

The staff were nice, although some were quite young and need a little more attention to detail (ie the hot stone bowl I mentioned earlier).

Finally, there is a 10% gratuity added automatically to your bill. I’m not sure if this is optional, but it did not feel like it was. We were given a keychain after payment…we noticed the staff hiding it behind the bill unsure if whether to give it or not, perhaps depending on acknowledging the added gratuity.

Overall, the 30% KBBQ promo this month and the newness of the place draws you in to this restaurant, although it fails to leave a memorable impression...

I went during the 30% off bbq, but unfortunately didn’t actually order any of the bbq.

My friend and I ordered 3 items, the cheese potato pancake, fried chicken in soy, and the kimchi fried rice with cheese.

The chicken and pancake were good, both crispy and how they should taste. The spicy mayo is not authentic, as in, you would never find that in Korea, but it was tasty and a highlight of the dish. The fried rice was a tad spicy, even for my Asian standards, and I’ve lived in Korea for 4 years and was there literally a week prior, so know what I’m talking about.

All in all, the flavours were there, but I was disappointed by the portion sizes and pricing. My friend and I paid about £50 total, for 3 dishes shared. The pancake and chicken were both smaller than expected. Only 6 bite sized pieces of chicken, I would have expected at least 8 pieces for the price, even by British pricing standards.

In terms of service, nothing bad to say, but atmosphere…. There was a rowdy table with two kids and a mum close by, who were deliberately balancing on their chairs, falling onto the floor in hysterics, and smashing into the window. At one point the chair hit another customer as well. After the first attempt, it was getting annoying because it was clearly on purpose, and nothing was done about this. A fair warning should have been given considering it was disrupting customers.

All in all, it was nice to try, but unless there’s a discount on all menu items, dont think I’ll be back...

Very dissapoint to say the leaast. We were excited and had high hopes for lunch with the team. We had planned for a Hangsang lunch but when we got there we were told it was not in Manchester (only London) and so very misleading.

One of our party was Halal and so we ordered him the prawns as no Halal option. The other meats came and we had to BBQ them. The prawns did not turn up. We asked numerous staff but they kept saying they take time and 3 more minutes.... we had nearly finished our meal before someone said to us they were not on the system! Terrible! Do they not check the orders to make sure they have everying - especially as you have to order yourseld on a IPAD style device and we asked them to help us so they knew there were 4 people dining.

To be fair they did then Cooked the prawns and gave them for free.

Service was not good at all - actually it was terrible

Food was defintiely over priced based on the fact we had to cook it ourselves. £14 - £15 for maybe 3 marinated chicken thighs.... that would have cost them about £1. Pretty Steep

the 30% offer was only on the BBQ meat and not the sides like Rice that you have to order anyway

We wont go back which is a shame - many more better restaurants. I cannot see them have many repeat customers.

We were so hungry afterwards that we had to get food from the Picadilly food...

I didn't have breakfast, but what I ordered would surely be a good meal for a couple. I went with the sirloin beef and spicy chicken for the bbq and the Gogi Sangcharim, which included side dishes of kimchi, radish, garlic and the leaves for meat wrapping. Definitely a good choice of sides, though I am curious if they can be replenished as we go, as I finished all my leaves despite still having a bit of beef slices to eat. The meat was fresh and the chicken marinade perfect. A little on the higher price side but mainly because I had ordered for two, usually you wouldn't get in for a Korean BBQ if you're a solo person. Bulgogi has also quite a choice of soups like kimchi jjigae, sundubu jjigae and a steamed egg which was tempting me. I was sad that there was no japchae in the bangchan menu though, as it's my favourite. The staff was nice and explained the sides and turned on the bbq on for me. The gratitude is already included in the bill, which not everyone is a fan of and is not a usual thing in the UK. Personally I do not agree with it being included, but since I enjoyed myself and the food, this time it was agreeable. Thank you for the meal. 맛있었어요.
