We attended the establishment on Saturday 02/09/23 around 17:50, I was impressed with building design and décor externally and internally (maybe because I am a bit of western fan) but seriously looked the part.
As we entered it wasn’t busy but just to put it out there by the time, we left people we were waiting for tables, so must be popular place.
As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the gentleman (who’s attire was based on an American wild western era, all the front staff dressed like this – which I thought was super cool! They also have the cowboy hats so you can wear them for pictures). We were offered a booth which I was happy with (not a big fan of small tables), the more I looked around the more impressed I was I could tell the owner has spent a lot of money on this business, even the door hallway to the toilets had saloon swing doors which I thought was a nice touch, honestly you have to visit the restaurant to experience it for yourself!
We ordered:
1 x Howdy Sizzling Wings 1 x Gun Slinger T. Bone Steak (16oz) – with peppercorn sauce, steak chip and howdy spicy rice 1 x Buffalo Chicken Burger – with skin on chips 1 x Diet Coke 1 x Water (Harrogate) 2 Scoops of Ice Cream – Ferrero Rocher
Total = £59.90
I know this sound a lot, but I choose the most expensive steak on the menu (I was really hungry), it was around £27 which is why the bill was high, the food comes to you on trolley (super cool again) and it was present magnificently, we were given 2 x empty plates I guess these are for the bones or where you put your sauces on. We also noticed the plates they use are good quality (when you using the knifes and fork against them). Food took around 20 minutes.
Alhamdulillah the steak was the best steak I have seen/eaten hands down loved the way it was presented, the sauce was great so were the chips and rice, the Mrs who is really picky eater she absolutely loved the burger (she can’t wait to go back she loves the Howdy sauce), the meat of the wing were tender and just come off the bone best wings I have had!
Also, the scoops of ice cream were large the dessert bowl was nearly full (bigger portion then I expected).
If I had one complaint, I would say the sink in the men’s toilet are really small but nothing major to complain about, price wise they are just a tad pricey (I noticed this on the starters menu) then you expect BUT the food is worth it!
I also noticed they had prayer area for the customers this is another major plus for me! (This is me being picky) the music (western theme music from movies) they have on is quite loud, but I guess you could ask the manager to turn it down if you are praying, I am sure he would honour this request.
The staff are super friendly and helpful, the lady who took our order she was patient, polite and helpful. The manager is very nice as well he came to our table to ask if everything was okay with the food and he let my Mrs on the platform outside so she could take a picture with the horse.
They have a decent amount of parking, which is another bonus for me.
I would 100% recommend this establishment to my family...
Read moreWe visited here with our grandchildren, basically as a treat for them. Firstly, the theming seemed to be well thought out, with neon lighting emphasising the Western theme, together with woodwork and numerous western posters etc. We were sat in one of the semi-circular booths which were quite comfortable. It’s immediately apparent, when reading the menu, together with looking around, that there is a ‘fusion’ of sorts taking place and that this is really not a true barbecue type place, albeit some of the items do seem to infer that. Staff were attentive and not intrusive. Our grand-daughter chose two appetisers, instead of a main meal, choosing the tacos and chicken lollipops. When they arrived, she was disappointed with the tacos, as there seemed to be way more garnish than actual meat. She said the lollipops were ok, but the barbecue sauce wasn’t what she was expecting. Our grandson had the chicken wings and he too, wasn’t over the moon about the barbecue aspects. My wife chose the surf and turf appetiser and said it was quite tasty, but was a small portion in her opinion. For mains I chose the Chicken steak, which threw me a little when it arrived, as it was coated in their special coating, which to me was nothing more than a tandoori type sauce and as it came with a sauce of my choice too, peppercorn in this instance, it seemed somewhat bizarre. There is a bottle of sauce on the table that resembled piri piri, but it had no lid, which we thought was odd. My wife had the rib-eye steak, which again, she said was nice, however, she wanted it medium-well and to her, it was more medium-rare, in places. The meals came with chips which were fine. We did have dessert, which are all priced between £6.50 and £9.00 and generally, we all thought that they were adequate, but slightly underwhelming. Drinks are supplied in bottles, we did ask for tap water for the grandchildren, which they said was not available, however I think that’s something they need to sort out, as my understanding is that it should be available at all times, as charging £2.50 for bottled water is not right. Our soft drinks were not chilled and were served in the bottles, with straws, which is not our idea of how it should be done. They have a little party trick of putting a bowl of dry ice on the table and pouring water into it, which sends the mist swirling over the table, which is quite novel, for the children especially. Toilets are adequate, the car park is quite large, but the layout makes it difficult to manoeuvre when full. Price wise the meal was, in our opinion, a little pricey, when judged against others and if you have a Western theme, indicating barbecue, we would respectfully request, that effort is put into that area. Overall, the meal was patchy in quality, taste and quantity. It certainly wasn’t what we expected and if we visited again, we would probably choose a different selection...
Read moreBooked this restaurant for a cowgirl themed hen party, when I booked it back in July, it was for a large party but no booking confirmation was received. I informed them on the phone it was for the hen party but at no point were we informed that they do not sell alcohol on the premises. This is something that should have been factored in from the restaurant as I would assume unless disclosed otherwise that alcohol was sold. We overlooked this issue and continued to dine there - the service was slow once our drinks and food orders were placed. On several occasions we needed to prompt the staff to remind them of what drinks/dishes we were still waiting for. I understand a larger table takes longer as they aim to serve everything together but the rudeness and abruptness from the staff when we asked about our order was uncalled for. Two people ordered the cream pasta dishes, one person needed to use the toilet for the rest of the night and the other did not eat their food as it was tasteless. When the waiters came to check on the table, he noticed a lot of food left on the plates and asked “do you not like the food?” A few people fed back some issues but the lady with the pasta said she couldn’t eat it and the waited simply walked away without offering to take the food away or make alternative. Because of all these issues we asked to take the pasta dishes off the bill and was met with rudeness from the waiter who actually became confrontational towards the lady with the pasta issue. He again walked away and left us at the booking desk. The manager eventually came and was very polite and helpful, he removed the dishes we complained about even though he said he shouldn’t really do so as we did not send the dishes back. We appreciated this help. The mocktails were lovely and refreshing, the soft drinks were all served in glass bottles so weren’t very large. We also asked for jugs of water for the table but were told they don’t do that. The shell on prawns to start were delicious, the sizzling wings also were very nice. Portions were large and good value for price - just the quality of some food/service lets the place down. Would probably be good for a cheap carefree kids party but...
