We had a great time, however we were a little disappointed.
We had the "bottomless" brunch but didn't feel it was as advertised. Absolutely LOVED the Drag queen, Kitty Tray and she created a great atmosphere. We also enjoyed the music. However we only actually got 1.5 hours of service due to them taking us down late (no explanation) and then our last order of drinks never arrived, when we chased it we were the bar was closed. Last orders we were at 2:15 pm we were told, which is half an hour before the end, we were without a drink from 2pm and didn't go down until 12:30. The drinks were very nice and the pizza was delicious, but we didn't get many and were only allowed 1 at a time for a table of 6 which was the same if you had 2 people. Same with the starters, the same amount if there were 2 or 6 and we were told we were not allowed more. I feel if we hadn't been told it was bottomless we would not have had such great expectations.
On a side note, the venue was not covid safe. No distancing of tables and staff wearing masks only on mouths and not noses.
I would like to stress that we did have a brilliant time and that we were only disappointed due to the misleading...
Read moreI went to Das Kino as part of a stag weekend on Saturday. We saw that there was no fancy dress allowed, so we thought we'd just go in wearing some hawaiian shirts. We arrived and were told this was fancy dress, and to remove it immediately. They did get us a bin bag to keep it all in, but the guys on the door seemed really annoyed with us. When we got in, I saw at least 6 or 7 other people wearing hawaiian shirts. We got the 'Bronze' drinks package and received what seemed like a billion drinks tokens - which was great! - but it was pretty busy and only one person was on our orders so it took forever to get all the pints pulled. We had to order shots in the end to get our money's worth in our allotted time. The staff members who got the shots for us were really nice. Overall, Das Kino was the one low point in an otherwise great weekend! I have to say, though, that the whole process of making the booking and arranging the drinks packages was great and smooth. If only actually being there had...
Read moreReally disappointed with the treatment of a particular doorman. As we approached the door he happily let me and my sister through but refused my brother in law entry for being “too drunk”. My brother in law is disabled, has severe rheumatoid arthritis and has had numerous surgeries on his legs etc. The fact that we weren’t even given the chance to explain this (he just point blank refused to listen to us) before then being laughed at and just basically made to feel stupid. It was really embarrassing for us all and totally unnecessary. I get they have a job to do, but discrimination of any kind is unacceptable and they really need to know the difference between someone who is drunk and someone who is disabled. On a brighter note we walked around the corner to another bar and were greeted more appropriately. We will never put ourselves in that situation again to be...
