Where do I begin? Everything that could have gone wrong with this order did. I got a leaflet from Pizza Punks with a 50% off discount for your first order so I thought I would treat me and my partner for a birthday takeaway. Firstly the ordering process and website are a nightmare. I started placing the order at 6:30pm and didn't manage to get it in until 6:50pm. Every time I went to select toppings and scroll to see the options, it sent me back to the original menu and I had to start all over again. It took about 7 attempts for me to successfully add the pizza to my order, then another 3 to add my partner's pizza. Then the coupon code wouldn't work - I checked the leaflet for any information to say we couldn't use the discount on certain orders, if there was a minimum spend etc but there was no info, and we hadn't tried to stack any other deals. I almost gave up as I'm not paying £35 for two pizzas (including £4 delivery which as you will read below, is an absolute joke), but I decided to order some dips as well and miraculously the coupon code then worked.
The website stated it would take about 40-50 minutes for our order to be made and collected, which we were fully prepared for. They said the order would be delivered by 7:30pm, which was a little earlier than they originally stated so we were pleasantly surprised. I then received a text saying our order had only just been picked up at 7:30pm and that we could track the order. When I tracked the order, it revealed our order was coming on an e-bike! Who delivers pizza from the city centre to Woodthorpe on an e-bike? It's not exactly going to be fresh and piping hot after that journey, is it? As I tracked the order, the courier took the absolute longest route from city centre to Woodthorpe, going through Old Basford, Sherwood and Mapperley!
When the order finally arrived at 8:15pm, the courier took out two crushed pizza boxes. I joked to the courier that the pizza boxes were in a sory state and due to the delivery time, we weren't expecting the pizzas to be hot at all. As he handed them to me, they were stone cold. I said I knew it wasn't his fault as he was only doing his job. He said he knew how long we'd waited and how long the delivery route took and apologised.
Sure enough, the pizzas were cold and the goats cheese topping we'd added amounted to three large chunks unevenly distributed. The chilli honey we'd ordered had leaked so the other dip containers were sticky. I laughed when I saw the sticker saying "Certified delicious by:" had not been signed, as no employee would want to put their name/responsibility on the order/service. The actual pizzas themselves were very nice even if they were cold, which is the only redeeming point to the order. I put half of the pizza in the air fryer and if the pizzas had been fresh, I guarantee they'd have been some of the best pizza we've had. Will try to complain elsewhere but because I placed the order through their own website and paid with card, I doubt we will get a refund. I will never use Pizza Punks ever again, or visit the branch where the pizzas would presumably reach us in a fresh state, just because of the business standards and...
Read moreHad a lovely time and we didn't book but managed to get squeezed in for our family
The food was absolutely amazing One pizza came out late because a plate broke It was my son's meal and the person who served us was really sweet and apologetic She said they are doing another right away and she just didnt want to risk any of the plate chipping in my son's food so I really appreciate that because some people would have tried to pick it out or risked it but I really liked that she told us and the pizza was out so fast too so there was no problem
our other server was really nice too We paid for our food early because I didn't want my phone to die and she took the payment and then brought out the receipt and because we thought it was a little high we checked and she had added the optional tip? I'm not sure if this is standard in your restaurant but I really would have liked to be told beforehand because it was an added 10% This took our bill from 80 something to 90 something We are a small family with a baby on the way and it's only £8 something for some but that's quite a lot for others especially when you save up for meals and things We made sure we only had a drink each and we didn't get a pudding because we didn't have enough I understand some places expect a tip but really I would have like to have been told
it made us a bit uncomfortable and we now have to do little cutbacks on things later in the week because we really have to budget things as a family We don't often eat out and it's a treat for us so it felt really frustrating If we give a tip we do it from it being our choice and wanting to It makes us feel really good when we have the money spare to tip but today wasn't one...

I recently visited Pizza Punks Nottingham, and I can confidently say the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service we received was outstanding. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, and in particular, one team member stood out.
When I asked for recommendations, he provided fantastic suggestions and was incredibly flexible with our order. His polite and friendly demeanor was matched with a genuine effort to connect with customers. At one point, I even noticed him kneeling down at a table to engage more personally with another guest—a clear testament to his commitment to great service. He was proactive throughout, clearing tables and serving food seamlessly while ensuring every customer was well looked after.
When the bill came, we noticed a service charge had been added. We inquired if he and his colleagues received the full amount, and he kindly explained it would be shared among all the staff, including the chefs. Despite us offering to tip separately, he insisted that the entire team deserved recognition for their hard work, which spoke volumes about the teamwork and fairness at Pizza Punks.
We also had the pleasure of meeting the marketing director, who happened to be visiting the site. We passed on our compliments, and it’s clear the high standards of both service and food are a shared priority across the team.
As for the food—it was fantastic. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and exactly as we’d hoped. This was my first visit to Pizza Punks Nottingham, and I’m already looking forward to returning. A huge thank you to the team for a...
