Went there for my birthday meal with my wife. It starts with walking into the place. Not a scent of smoke at all not even a tiny bit, should have been a warning sign from that point. Friendly enough waitress took us to our table. We ordered drinks that took a bit of time to come. The oreo shake was tasty, but straws pathetic to deal with the thickness of it. We had the carnivore platter to try a bit of everything as with any smokehouse their smoked beef should be their signature dish. When it came out the platter looked kind of impressive but was the most obvious thing about it, it didn't have a scent of smoke at all. No idea what the other reviewers palates are like, maybe they smoke or drink them into oblivion but in general everything was bland, under seasoned and there wasn't even a smoke ring on the brisket, short rib or st louis ribs. Overall a massive disappointment. I've smoked short ribs in the back garden with more flavour than this. What credentials do they have? They clearly aren't pit masters. Should really be ashamed to put Texas bbq on their brand. The only smokey thing on the platter was the hot link... and it was a cheap brat. The platter was meant to come with a selection of BBQ sauces, two were exactly the same and one was a faintly blue cheese dip. The pulled pork was dry and bland too. We had bacon jalapeño mac cheese, was nice and cheesy but didn't taste of anything. The fries were probably the only seasoned item. Maybe the burgers or the chicken would have been a better option to order.. but IMHO you don't go for bbq to get chicken or a burger - you get a tray of smoked meat. We certainly would NOT recommend this to anyone who actually wants to have a great BBQ experience. If you want to have some kind of experience with BBQ in Nottingham go to Reds... It still isn't that great to be fair, but at least they have actually won BBQ competitions and the food actually tastes more of BBQ/smoke. Oh and the gall to add on a 10% service charge to a table of 2? hilarious. I give tips when they are deserved. In countries like the states it's expected as they get paid nothing, but not here. Tips are given for exemplary service and quality food. Not just because... TLDR - DON'T GO HERE if you know anything about food or bbq. Save your money, buy a smoker and cook it yourself, you'll have a better experience! Shame really as I was quite excited to go, we certainly won't be returning and if they don't improve I hope others don't too. Thanks for the leftover meat, I've added it to a chilli and created an actually tasty meal. Oh and the other photo is what a smoked short rib looks like with a smoke ring and juicy as hell.

When we arrived we were informed that the whole Barbecue section was sold out, we arrived Around 10pm which was close to the opening time of the second service (9:30pm). The waitress assigned to our table seemed friendly at first until her agitation became clear at me taking my time to order. After orders were made it seemed like she was intentionally avoiding our table. Other servers seemed like that also, not all but some. I agree with other reviews, the atmosphere is friendly because the staff are so friendly with each other it's like they hold a grudge against customers that don't only come to sit down pay and eat, no questions asked. Whenever I approached staff, because they seemed too "busy" to make themseleves available to customers that already ordered, I always felt like a nuisance and not a customer that they were trying to provide a good experience to. I just want to clarify that the restaurant was mostly empty so it was blatantly obvious that they were avoiding customers. I am suprised to see that they have 4 star ratings on google, they should have 1 or 2 stars out of 5. The food is over priced. Do not be fooled by the gallery the official website provides, the burgers are no way near the humongous size. They are almost half the size of a normal burger from McDonald's, and depending on which burger you get, depends on how high it will be based on the filling. The only saving grace of my meal was the fries I ordered on the side. Even then, I could have got better value for my money at KFC for the same meal, almost 4 times less the price! I spent £16.50 for a 'mini' burger and fries. The toilets were clean however, in the stalls I looked in, 1 was missing toilet roll and the cover of the toilet had been cracked in another. The toilet was a maze to go to as well, loads of turns and twists and a lot of stairs to climb. If you have a nut allergy, I reccommend you avoid this restuarant as I could feel my throat itching slightly, it was my fault that I didn't ask. But I felt like a nuisance anyway and didn't want to agitate the rude staff anymore. They serve a peanut butter burger which may have cross-contaminated with my food. In the image I shared, the meat was pink inside, which is a concern for food quality. I was told this is supposed to be medium rare, but I feel like I should've been asked to clarify how well done I'd like the meat in my burger which is completely cooked and well done. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to other people, unless you have money to waste and are completely oblivious to the customer service.

Popped in on Saturday 12th August, after a two hour drive for lunch (first timers) and it was the most amazing experience. I had the mozerella sticks to start and they were incredible. Mozerella sticks are my go to, so I've had many versions and honestly these are the best I've ever had. Crispy, salty, tangy with the sauce... Absolutely stunning. Everyone else I was with thoroughly enjoyed their starters too, wings and loaded nachos. For mains we all chose sandwiches, I had the Juicy Lucy, but also swapped half of mine for half the pork shoulder sandwich with someone on my table. Both sandwiches were incredible, the pork one peaked just slightly into first position for me as it was less fatty, not to say the brisket was overly fatty, it wasn't at all, but it is brisket. The other two people at our table had motherships and even 24 hours later my partner can't stop talking about how good it was. We also had some loaded fries, chicken bacon & ranch and we had the philly cheesteak ones. Both sets of loaded fries were amazing and the bacon in the ranch ones was beautiful, smokey and crispy. I have to talk about the dill pickle!!!! Now, I am not a pickle fan but I thought "no it's there, I'm going to try it"... This is my absolute new obsession. I had everyone else's pickles too! Red dog, can I buy these???? Do you make them? Are they a brand... Please let me know! My daughter had her first burger here, she's 7 and has shown no interest in burgers her entire life. I was concerned she wouldn't like it (I'm not the biggest burger fan) I do encourage trying new things though. She loved it and I can't blame her, I took a small bite, and honestly I have to say, if you're going to have your first burger, red dog is the place to have it. Although a simple cheese burger, it was packed full of flavor and an absolute pleasure to eat. We unfortunately did not have a single scrap of room for pudding but the dessert menu just gets better and better each dessert you look at on there. I have no doubt the dessert would blow you away. I also want to make a special mention to Hannah who was so lovley! She was amazing with us all especially my daughter and just all round a great hostess. Keep up the good work Hannah! We're booked to go to red dog Liverpool next month and we cannot wait! ❤️

Expected good things with this place after looking at past reviews, how wrong was I! Waitress came over and took drinks order which we then waited nearly half an hour for. When we enquired where our drinks order was we were abruptly told by another member of staff that ' there's only one person on the bar, he's doing his best!' OK..but the place is empty only us and two other tables in the whole place and not one person in the bar! All our Food came after an hour nearly in dribs and drabs throughout a 20 minute window, got my very small side of COLD £4.50 fries a good 10 minutes before the rest of my meal whats that about?. I had brisket it was just grey bland fatty mush on a dirty looking side dish sized plate with three slices of cheap pickle and a little takeaway style plastic bowl of unidentifiable sauce after seeing that I sent mine back and went without I was so put off by then. My wife's burger we sent back as it was just two or three slices of beef mushed together it looked like roadkill and drowned in sauce I suspect to hide the state of it. The replacement came, just the same only bigger, yuk! The childrens meals were embarrassing with two slices of cucumber and a small whole carrot!? on the side of overdone chicken and anemic looking fries which incidentally was the same size as his brothers identicle meal only his was from the main menu costing about £10 more but was that small! I'd already complained about my food and been told it would be taken from the bill, fair enough. But come bill time my fries were still on there, not a big deal but still.. also so was the 10% service charge! Not being funny but after all faults with the whole meal I felt charging for this was a p##s take tbh! When we queried this with the manager he was most unapologetic, sighed and refused to take the fries from the bill for some reason bit strange considering he'd already agreed to remove the main course!?. We then had to argue our case while he just looked uninterested and never once did he even attempt to apologise, before he finally agreed to take off the fries and service we then overheard him saying "you deal with this, I don't want to" to the poor waitress who to be fair was very polite and apologetic throughout. Also got to mention the gents toilets were rank two urinals both out of order with yellow tape across them so they couldnt be used but both were still full of urine and what looked like vomit. Lovely to see half way through a meal. I've also seen this toilet/vomit situation mentioned in a previous review so could this be a common reaction to what they are serving who knows? Certainly will not be going back, rubbish food, expensive and a bit dirty too! I don't know why I paid for most or any of it to be honest. I just wanted out of there and didn't want the day to be spoilt even more by having to argue over it further especially given the management's previous reaction. Really disappointed as this was Christmas eve and had been well...

I visited Red Dog Saloon in Nottingham last week, and I must say, my experience was quite memorable, especially when it came to the meal I ordered—the Devastator Burger.

Walking into the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the rustic yet modern vibe, with dim lighting and comfortable seating. The staff members were welcoming and attentive, ensuring that I felt well taken care of throughout my visit.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the Devastator Burger. As the name suggests, this burger is not for the faint of heart. It's a colossal creation that pushes the limits of what can be considered a burger. Stacked high with three beef patties, three slices of American cheese, six rashers of bacon, and a generous helping of BBQ pulled pork, it's an absolute behemoth.

When the burger arrived at my table, I was taken aback by its sheer size. It towered over the plate, and I immediately knew I was in for a challenge. The patties were cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, and the bacon added a crispy and savory element. The combination of melted cheese and BBQ pulled pork provided a delightful richness that complemented the other ingredients.

Taking my first bite was an experience in itself. The flavors exploded in my mouth, and I was impressed by how well-balanced the ingredients were. Each bite was a mouthful of meaty goodness, and I appreciated that despite its size, the Devastator Burger didn't sacrifice taste or quality.

Eating the entire burger was quite the undertaking, and I'll admit, it was a struggle to finish. However, the challenge was part of the fun, and I appreciated the novelty of tackling such a massive meal. It's definitely a burger for those with a big appetite or those looking for a unique dining experience.

In addition to the Devastator Burger, the menu at Red Dog Saloon offered a variety of other enticing options. From mouthwatering ribs to flavorful chicken wings, there was something for every meat lover. The portion sizes were generous, and the quality of the ingredients was evident.

The service throughout my visit was commendable. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were happy to offer recommendations and ensure that I had an enjoyable dining experience.

Overall, my visit to Red Dog Saloon in Nottingham was a memorable one, especially with the Devastator Burger as the highlight of the meal. The restaurant provided a vibrant atmosphere, attentive service, and a menu that catered to carnivorous cravings. If you're looking for a dining experience that pushes the limits of what a burger can be, the Devastator Burger at Red Dog Saloon is worth a try. Just make sure you come with a...
