The Loxley — Restaurant in Nottingham

When we went to order we were "greeted" by an extremely rude bar"man" (looked about 12) behind the bar who greatly offended a member of our party by assuming she was a child before asking for any form of identification and insisting he coildnt serve a child. Regardless of this we foolishly decided to order food, we were told there was a 30 minute wait for food which was odd considering there was only a handful of people in the place.

After 20 minutes of waiting at the dirty and sticky table a different grumpy member of staff dropped some cutlery onto the table without saying a word. Then after another 30 minute wait (50 minutes since ordering) we were told there would be another 10 to 15 minute wait as the kitchen staff were extremely busy. Busy doing what I'm not exactly sure. I can only assume they had gone to harvest the corn to make some tortilla crisps, I've no idea how it can take so long to make some nachos...

When I ask for a refund, it was given but the person behind the bar who I spoke to didn't even have the courtesy to come over and apologise, but instead sent another member of staff to our table with my refund (which had been given in Scottish notes just to be awkward).

I've only given it 1 star as it's not possible to give a 0 star rating.

For anyone considering visiting this place I would seriously think twice. Chewing your own arm off may be a more...

Very disappointing. Ordered a sharer and two mains...the sharer came out with the mains not sure why a starter was sent that way. I ordered a burger which was OK but the lettuce was limp and the portion of chips was laughable and cold. Condiments were brought to the table... obviously not been kept in the fridge as we're warm and the mayo had split. My husband ordered the mix grill....the menu states gammon steak...it was obviously a slice of bacon as it was that thin. The steak was ordered as medium rare, it was well done on one side and rare on the other and very chewy...cheap steak. The chicken breast had clearly been cooked in a microwave as it was tough, rubbery and the only saving factor was the sauce with the sharing chicken wings that it could be dipped in to give flavour. The egg was hard... I feel sorry for the chicken that laid it as what a waste. The peas had a plastic taste and the chips were cold. The girl at the bar drawing on blackboards needs to watch her language also as many times was heard using the F word....delightful. The pub look inviting from outside but would certainly never eat here again as the food...

We came out on saturday for a bite a quick drink and to move on to one of our favour bars for the music for a little dance as its not our thing in there. when we normally have come into loxley we stayed till 10 that its 9 ish sometimes not really a busy place after food is done nice for a drink and chat then to move on to party.. We have done this a few times and its not busy when the dj comes not up our street the food was good just as we was finishing off out drinks the dj started playing all i have to say is wow wow wow i have never seen it that busy and fun there were people dancing off the chairs and tables the music and dj was out of this world every time we was going to leave he play tune hit song after song the dance floor and bar never got empty it was wall to wall busy the atmosphere was crazy one of the best djs i have ever heard ever better dj then the bar we really really like .. food 6 out of 10... dj 15...
