Royal Thai – A Haven of Flavour and Serenity
Nestled in the heart of the city, Royal Thai offers not just a meal but an experience—a perfect blend of authentic Thai cuisine, warm ambience, and moments of peaceful reflection. My recent visit left me with a deep sense of gratitude, not only for the delicious food but also for the blessing of having a moment of solitude in such a welcoming space.
The interior is beautifully set, with soft, warm lighting, subtle floral accents, and elegant wooden furniture. The atmosphere feels serene yet inviting, making it just as easy to enjoy quiet time as it is to spark a friendly conversation. If you’re someone who values meaningful connections, you’ll find this place naturally fosters them.
The food was a delight—a vibrant plate of flavours and textures that felt both fresh and comforting. From the perfectly balanced spices to the crisp freshness of the ingredients, every bite spoke of care and authenticity. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, leaving you fully satisfied.
The staff were kind and attentive without being intrusive, which only added to the sense of calm and hospitality. It’s rare to find a place that combines such a well-rounded dining experience with a genuine sense of warmth.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet retreat, a chance to meet new people, or simply a fantastic Thai meal, Royal Thai is a gem worth discovering. For me, it was more than just dinner—it was a reminder of how solitude can be a blessing and how good food and a welcoming space can bring joy to the...
Read moreI have no idea how these reviews are so high. The waitress was friendly, that's the part that got them any stars. The starters, we had squid and fishcakes. The fishcakes had no fish. They taste like fried egg, and looked like it too. The mains, I had Beef masaman. I've had this in a thai restaurant in West Bridgford and it was beautiful. Whilst the beef quality here wasn't bad, it was pretty much beef with a jar of sauce poured on top. No vegetables or anything mixed in it. My partner ordered something with deep fried prawns, I have no idea what he got but it certainly wasn't that. The menu has photos on it. What he received looked absolutely nothing like the photo they were advertising. They don't sell draft beer, or large bottles. Only 330ml bottles at £4 a time. There were 3 tables eating whilst we visited. I saw all 3 make complaints about their food. It had new management in May. I definitely...
Read moreWent in on my own for a meal. Restaurant was empty. Young waiter gave me menu and fetched me a drink. The beer glass provided had washing up residue so couldn't poor without causing lots of foam to come off top, so much it was undrinkable. Wiped foam off top off glass, took sip of Singha beer to find it was warm, told the waiter the beer was warm, he then argued that i was wrong and the beer was in fact cold. I told him i didn't like his attitude and not to bother with my food order, he then told me i wasn't allowed to leave without paying. I laughed and walked out, extremely rude staff, not to mention warm beer. Fridges get turned off overnight clearly and take a long time to warm up once they reopen next day. That was just the beer, who knows what happens with food. Would...
