On November 15th, I ordered two plates of picanha steak, one well-done and the other medium-rare. The medium-rare dish was delivered correctly, with an acceptable picanha steak. However, the well-done dish contained only a few pieces of meat. Upon expressing my dissatisfaction and stating that it did not match what I had requested, I was informed that these meat pieces were considered picanha, and it was the standard way of serving it. Although I decided to proceed with the meal after the explanation, I made it clear to the staff that it would be my last visit to the establishment, and I would share a negative review. This situation was uncomfortable, not only making me feel deceived but also leading me to cancel the dessert orders I had planned to enjoy at the venue. Later, one of the staff members attempted to refund me money that I hadn't even paid, something I could have dishonestly kept. In the end, when settling the bill, I was surprised to learn that the meal was complimentary. As for the quality of the food, the rice and bean stew were acceptable. However, the way the "picanha" was served did not meet the appropriate standard of service.

Wonderful food, friendly staff in the hub of Oxford, great place to people watch. Fernando’s Cafe is a local business located in the heart of Oxford serving beautifully cooked, fresh and healthy homemade food for over a decade. They offer a wide range of British cafe cuisine, although their speciality and differential is their Brazilian food dishes. Their organic homemade cakes and excellent coffee are also an attraction for anyone walking past, and as a bonus they offer a large variety of vegan and gluten free products. Their wonderful and friendly team will make you feel very welcome at anytime of the year, whether you’re sat outside having one of their gorgeous chicken salads with a vanilla iced latte during summertime, or inside with a coconut hot chocolate in one of their cosy sofas in winter

Very thin stake and disappointed as this was advertised as a special. The rice was unbarabeley salty along with the stake which lacked flavour. I was highly surprised at the size of the stake, way too thin. The dish on a whole lacked flavour . Also a sauce or gravy would have been nice to accompany the meal. Also I thought the coleslaw portion was a bit dismal and kind of pointless. Other dishes looked really nice though. The salads looked lovely and the staff was quick to refund. Won't however be retuning based on the experience today.

My wife and I had a late lunch here yesterday. We both wanted the falafel and hummus salad but they had run out of falafel. The guy behind the counter ( who I think was the owner) said that he could do something similar using the thai vegan patties they use in burgers. When we said that we were happy with this alternative he also stated that if we didn't like it we were to bring it back and he would find something else. Can't say fairer than that! As it happens we both agreed that the salad was AMAZING! It was both beautifully presented and, more importantly, very tasty indeed! Both members of staff we spoke to were friendly too. I've been visiting Oxford for more years than I can remember but this was our first time at Fernando's. It certainly won't...
