we enjoyed a lovely coffee here, our two children enjoyed a particularly and sausage roll with crisps, the staff were very friendly and helpful, just to sit and relax was lovely, I care for my husband who has schizophrenia, he too was calm n relaxed here, loved the old photos on the wall, took pictures of them,I ve had a long intrest in black white photography, these were like a time capsule, would recommend anyone to go there, food is high class

First time back dining in today since the last time they got rid of salads & jacket potatoes. We thought of trying their jacket again but we were disappointed esp. with my tikka masala, chicken was chewy & obvious processed meat and lack presentation like it used to be, i mean no sides included. Definitely the Tavistock branch is 10 times better when you're looking for dining in.

A great place to stop for a lunch or coffee in the city centre. I always find the staff very friendly and accommodating. The sandwiches and cakes are excellent too. Better still, you can sit outside on a sunny day and watch the world go by!

My Father and I decided to come in for a bacon, brie and cranberry wrap (we had one in the past and recalled that it was delicious). My Dad is a coeliac so he asked for his to be gluten free and double checked that one was just before he paid, the girl on the till said that she had put it through as such. We waited for over half an hour for two wraps to arrive. When they did eventually arrive neither wrap was made gluten free, if my Dad didnt ask when the plates were sat down then he could have been hospitalised. The girl that handed us our food didnt offer an apology, she just gave us bad attitude. She took the plate away and we waited another 20 minutes for the wrap to be brought out. The wraps themselves were lack luster to say the least. You would expect that a bacon, brie and cranberry wrap would have at least a little bit of cranberry sauce in but none was to be found in either wrap. Just a mountain of bacon and barely any brie.

I hope the owner of this place reads this as you also need to desperately train your staff in food hygiene and safety. The hour that my Father and I was sat there we saw the milk steamer being used for 4-5 drinks before being cleaned with a cloth, when it was eventually cleaned it was with a cloth that was used to wipe down the extremely dirty sides. The walls and floors of the restaurant were incredibly dirty, there were bits of food that had clearly been there for a while. One member of staff was putting away cutlery and found a dirty fork. Instead of taking it back and cleaning it they just picked the food off of it and put it back in the cutlery holder. Theres much more that i could write but i dont want to take uo anymore of your time.

I have to say that i am disgusted at how this establishment ran itself during our stay. I dont think I will be coming here ever again and will be recommending that my friends and family dont come here either.

I look forward to...

Wrote a 1 star review on Just Eat with my comments earlier which seems to have suspiciously turned into a 3.5 star review on there and deleted my comments so I’ll leave a review here.

Ordered 2x Tuna jacket potatoes for delivery today which came to a total of £16?! Thought it would be worth it as I used to have pasty house delivered all the time and it was always delicious. I was VERY disappointed.

The tuna jackets arrived and they were absolutely awful. You used to get a salad and coleslaw and the potato was presented in a long box to accommodate it all, however now all you get is a tiny box with a potato in it and no accompaniments.

The tuna was bland, the potato was freezing cold and slimy, they didn’t give us ANY cutlery? So how were we supposed to eat it? The butter in the potato made the box disintegrate and I ended up with butter all over my lap. It just tasted awful? Soggy and unappetising. I can’t believe I spent £16 on something I could have made way nicer at home for a fraction of the price?! This place has honestly gone majorly downhill, I used to rave about it all the time but now I’ll be telling everyone to AVOID at all costs. What we were presented with was honestly insulting, don’t know how they’re getting away with it? Actually worse than Spud U Like and didn’t think anything...

BLT ordered, no spread on baguette, no lettuce, bacon cold, chunks of tomato uncooked, staff member asked why tomato uncooked, "that's how we do it, you have to ask for it to be cooked"(not mentioned on menu). Her tone was rude and dismissive, male member asked how he could help, advised him of problem, he resolved problem and personally delivered fresh order, which was ok, still no lettuce! My curiosity was triggered by female staff member's attitude, so I observed her working. She was wearing blue catering gloves whilst she prepared food, that was a plus. She continued working for 30 minutes preparing food, using utensils, accessing storage, opening packaging, disposing of waste, whilst wearing the same pair of gloves, she then removed them to take orders at the counter and using the till. She then visited a customer's table area, petting/smoothing a dog, then returning behind the counter, using the till. Within this time frame/ tasks, she did not leave front of house to wash her hands. This female will know who she is, her nails were approx an inch in length and brightly coloured. Perhaps staff hygeine training renewal due. No stomach problems here thankfully, not somewhere to...
