I went with 3 other friends last night for our first time to this restaurant, it will be the last time. I had been looking forward to it all day. Nothing apart from the company was good! We each ordered at the bar, we all went for a starter, main and pudding my bill was £36.50 excluding drink and paid up front. The mains were brought out before the starters. Some of the party were given incorrect dishes that hadn't been ordered. The service was non Existent! No apologies . I ordered prawns to start at £9.50, I got a plate no bigger than a mobile phone with about 5 or 6 normal king prawns and a small amount of salad. This was very over priced. Dumplings for my friend were a weird consistency and rock solid. The Chicken wings seemed to be ok. Main meal after confusion of being accused of the group ordering 2 x jerk chicken when no-one had ordered it at all! Then we got accused of only 3 of paying! Eventually the 2nd mutton curry came out. No spices what so ever! No taste. Bland doesn't even cover it. Then the Rum cake, so much confusion on what flavour ice cream with it (they had run out of Vanilla and Strawberry) but so still offered it! It was a sponge with no rum! Lights turned out before we had been to toilet because they wanted to close up early. I feel very robbed of my £36.50 meal. I could have cooked better at home. Avoid...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter having eaten from several Caribbean/west Indian restaurants, including eateries in Jamaica: Montego Bay - Ocho Rios, I want to know where this chef has been hiding all this time! Absolutely amazing food. I ordered rice n peas (gungo), fish, fried chicken, macaroni cheese, dumplings, sent with a fresh salad and coleslaw. The rice is cooked to perfection with the rice pods all separated, peas are well cooked. The chicken skin taste so good, the skin is crispy and not dry at all, the chicken is seasoned throughout the boneless parts too. The fish was so succulent and designed with traditional spices, each bite was delicious. The dumplings- one of the best Iāve tasted, soft and tasty, no grease and cooked to the right consistency. The macaroni has a lovely cheesy taste, cooked to perfection. Wow! Iām pleasantly surprised and will be singing of the roof tops, anytime someone asks me where to eat or order from. The portions are good, packaged well and the tenderness of the meat served indicates a period of marinade before cooking. Iām so excited for the restaurant to see how it progresses. Iām going to be booking a table for the family soon, and I canāt wait. Iāll upload more pics upon my visit. I want to sneak a peak at the chef! My only negative is that the macaroni portion needs...

There's nothing quite like the authenticity of Caribbean cuisine to set the stage for a delightful home feast! Ordering from Dolphins transformed an ordinary day into a vibrant celebration of flavours and Caribbean memories. Starting with cod salt fish bakes set the tone for the lavish meal we were about to jump into!!! The tantalising aroma of Brown Stew Chicken and the spicy kick of Jerk Chicken danced on your palate, while the rich, creamy Goat Curry with rich gravy brought a confident warmth.
The cheesy goodness of Macaroni Pie, paired with fluffy rice n peas, created a comforting harmony to the meal.. Donāt forget the addition of crunch of salad and coleslaw to balance it all out! This Sunday feast was not just a meal; it's an experience that leaves you craving more. Thank you, Dolphin!
Remember this is not a gastro restaurant and the takeaway prices reflect that but if you want home style food that reminds you of family feasts then this is the one!
