I can see the headline now. “Chop’s Grill & Bar new Glasgow #1 Restaurant of the year!!!” Chop’s Grill & Bar is located conveniently in the heart of Glasgow city centre, in the Sandman Signature Glasgow Hotel. It is destined to be the new favorite place to be in the city centre and in Glasgow. They are committed to bringing you classic hospitality paired with delicious, original food and drink.

While steaks are a huge feature on the menu and deservedly so, Chops brings you so much more. In the South in the US we call it Southern Hospitality. While our server Kristian has ever been to the Southern US, he so demonstrates it. He wasn’t “Hi my name is _, I’ll be your server tonight.” He was laid back but attentive and a true ambassador for his city and Chops.

Realizing we were tourist, he took the extra time to recommend places to go and things to do. He also made solid recommendations from the Chops menu and conducted a personal tasting with us of his favorite Scotches. I am a sold bourbon drinker, but through his expert knowledge and taking the time to get to know our taste profiles, I know proclaim a new found love for Scotch. I only hope I can find the label in the US.

I am glad to have experienced Chops early in its opening. I hope very humbly when we return and they are packed as they will be and they remember this Southern Couple and find us a seat. What an awesome first Chop experience in Glasgow and what a gorgeous location! It was my first night in the city and Steven took great care of me. He made some yummy recommendations and one of the best Negroni’s I’ve ever had! :) The hospitality from the entire team was awesome. Chef Will came out to say hi and both him and Steven gave me some great recommendations on where to go enjoy the city afterwards. I had a great night out because of them! Came back for breakfast the next morning and everything was perfect again! The male host/server at the front was very friendly and personable. Made me feel right at home!
