Went into the place with a friend, as I quite enjoy Dim Sum. Sadly, maybe 10% of the menu are any Dim Sum options. I ordered the assorted steamed platter for two, for a fairly high price. I received ten minuscule dumplings. They were tasty, but none of them traditional. They were filled with western and Indian fillings that were unfitting for what the restaurant appears to be. Worst was that it was expensive. As I was still hungry, I asked the waitress whether if having the fried dumpling platter for two would be enough to make a full meal. She proceeded to tell me the prices of each dish and smile, telling me that I'm supposed to order a main (I've already spent 8£ per head so far).
-Service was not good either. I ordered a can of coke, and was given a glass to serve it in. I wasn't given a straw, so they effectively forced me to drink from a glass cleaned to dubious standards. As I finished my glass of coke the waitress forcibly poured the rest of my can into my glass. I did not want to drink more at the moment (but they obviously want you to). My coke got flat and watery as a result.
-While all customers had chopsticks, we weren't even offered any.
Overall not going back there. Expect to pay at least 15-20 pounds per head, for an untraditional, expensive, unremarkable, and unprofessional experience after which you'll...
Read moreFood okay. Probably get the actual dim sum rather than the mains. The dim sum i had was really quite nice. The main i had (orange chicken) had the worst tasting orange sauce I have tasted. Cant have been anything more that orange juice with corn syrup mixed - far too acidic and spoiled the nicely prepared meat and rice. I've had orange chicken for half the price that tasted far better.
I went in for lunch for 1 while on break, seeing their £15 dine in lunch menu advertised outisde the restuarant.
The server didnt say anything or show me the contactless payment screen before tapping it to the card that was in my hand. What i was actually charged was closer to £17 as their dine in price didnt incclude a service charge. I know service charges are pretty common, but at lunch time for 1 person, in the city center, it was a bit spirising, especially given I was eating off the "£15 lunch combo". At least say it's a thing before initiating contactless payment.
All in all okay food, okay service, but if theyre charging close to £20 the food and service both need to be improved quite a bit in my opinion before i'll be happy going in for...

Really quite unassuming look restaurant from the outside, this place had a really big menu and the food was absolutely wonderful - the steamed bun platter was fantastic to start, sufficiently so for me to overlook the fact it was served on a bed of sweetcorn. I hate sweetcorn with a passion, it is just not nice… Beautiful buns in a range of colours and with different meat fillings. Gorgeous.
For a main we shared salt and pepper chicken, small pancakes with pork and an egg fried rice. The food was all high quality and very tasty. Probably better than Taiu Pan in Liverpool, where i eat regularly and which is superb.
In a rare departure for Chinese restaurant, I ordered a pudding. Not for them the usual generic choice of Pingu and friends, this restaurant actually has some traditional puddings - the sweet sponge was lovely.
The beer in this restaurant was Asahi by the pint. An excellent choice. Asahi for the people.
Definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back...
