Good casual food on a nice environment. It is rarely empty. Big groups of friends enjoying drinks, some couples having dinner and few seniors having an after-work custom pint of beer.
I think some birthday parties book part of the space sometimes for celebrating but it does not disturb the atmosphere of the place.
The terrace is specially nice.
However, the following is a bit weird: so the place is quite setted-up for having a drink and chatting with friends...but at 22:00 they put the music quite loud and you need to pay to get into....as a casual pub is nice and successful, but as a night club not that much I think...and many people will see their nice conversations interrupted by loud music. Sometimes DJs or live music.
In terms of events sometimes they do theme-based parties that can attract some people but in other occasions you will find that the only people actually using the dancing floor are s group of a stagparty.
I think is one of the good options in Dundee for casual socializing but I honestly think it should stop trying to do this change to club at night.
There is nothing wrong to stay till late enjoying drinks and conversation with friends but the loud music makes talking impossible and they need to pay at entry after 22:00 makes groups leave because they've got friends out.

Read moreDuring the week Duke's Corner is a generally nice place to go for a few drinks, they have a variety of craft beers and some specialty ciders and the food is always top notch. From the moment you step in there is a noticeably friendly atmosphere; it definitely isn't an old mans pub. The prices are around what you would expect from such an establishment , Around £4 for drinks, with food from around £10 for adults and around £5 for children. These prices are about the same as other similar places but not the most student friendly, you can decide whether that is a good or bad thing yourself. Over the weekend Duke's becomes a far louder, far busier place; often with live music. The quality of said music does vary from time to time - but always enjoyable, for one reason or another. And not to forget the dogs, at Duke's dogs are always welcome; there is even some water bowls next to the bar...
Read moreWent for dinner tonight. Have always enjoyed Duke’s burgers, but unfortunately tonight they were awful. I don’t know if I can get across how bad they were, the burger was bone dry. I don’t like my burgers anywhere near pink, I want my burger well cooked, but this was so far gone. No juiciness etc, like a desert in my mouth. Bone dry. The outside of the burger was burnt, with a clear taste of charcoal. So awful. This brick of what was once a burger was placed in a brioche bun. No lettuce, no tomato, no sauce. A dry roll with an even dryer burger. We had a table of 12, and the story was the same across the board. So that was £230 well spent. I’m sorry Duke’s, but I cannot recommend you any longer. Only advice is, sack your cook and hire back the chef you have lost, and pay them what they ask otherwise you can forget about serving food for...
