Saw a gig in the upstairs space here, which is a well organised, but overall small room.

There are bars upstairs, in the gig room, and downstairs in a space that's arranged like a more traditional bar. The staff were organised, and there was a good selection of non-alcoholic options. They were also reasonably priced. I was driving, so I have no idea what the situation was with the prices of alcoholic drinks, but there seemed to be a decent range available.

The cloakroom is upstairs, and run by the upstairs bar staff - it costs £1, which I thought was very reasonable.

The upstairs performance space has a raised section, and both sections have a small amount of bench type seating around the edges. The security staff - who are efficient but not over-bearing - are OK with you standing on these benches when the gig starts.

It might just be the gig I went too, but the sound levels were also spot on - I could hear everything perfectly (and I was right at the back), but it wasn't so loud that my ears were ringing afterwards.

As ever, there could do with being more ladies toilets, but they worked, had paper, the sinks worked, and the water was warm, and one of the two hand dryers worked. So a vast improvement on a lot of places.

Overall, very good experience, especially as I suspect that the gig I went to was probably the first such event for a lot of the younger people in attendance - and they managed that really well at the bar...

Venue was a nice little venue, bar staff were lovely.. what ruined the night for me was how rude, unprofessional and aggressive the “security” man was that was guarding the stairs to the band section last night, obviously he doesn’t like his job so maybe just quit instead of being so rude to people who are there to have a good time and see bands. Every encounter with him when going back upstairs was aggressive when showing him our wristbands and then at the end of the night I tried to go back up for my jacket as it was in the cloakroom up there and he blocked me off saying no you can’t go up it’s closed so too late (again very rudely) and after telling him I’ll need my jacket to walk home he then told me to give him my ticket and he would get the jacket and bring it back down, he then came down with someone else’s jacket after waiting there for ages and told me to wait he will get mine in order of the tickets he had.. he then came back down again and told me my jacket was gone to go up and get it myself if it was there and finally let me up. The jacket was on the floor so fell off the hanger clearly and they told me that I clearly gave them an incorrect ticket which is impossible as I only got one! Their mistake but tried to turn it on me and again all this said to me was with rudeness and pure aggression. It turned me off wanting to go there again, first time going as I was dying to try it and...

After first visiting King Tuts a few weeks ago, I decided to return and spent £20 on tickets for me and my pal on a gig. After having a few drinks before the gig and picking up my tickets at the bar, I walked up to the doorman to present my tickets when I was told he recognised me and I was "trouble". I wasn't sure what he was referring to and was let upstairs anyway. Later I came downstairs when the bouncer pulled me aside and accused me of taking drugs that night and jumping on cars 2 years ago (when I would not have been of legal drinking age). He proceeded to aggresively search me and put his hands down my trousers when I stopped him, to which he said, "one step out of line and you're out of here." At this point I felt severely unsafe and targeted so I left without being allowed to tell my friend of my whereabouts. Once outside I phoned the venue to alert them to the incident and explained my situation to a girl called Rachel who explained she would not issue me a refund and would stand by the guards accusations without any video evidence to prove so, even after explaining it simply was not true. I asked her if she would even stand by them if they're in the wrong, to which she replied, "yes." I think Rachel should sack some of her staff so she no longer has to stand by such irrational and dangerous decisions made by a bouncer abusing his...

We came for the first time mid-February 2023 to see The Dollyrots & Don't Panic supported by The Royals. Venue is pretty close to the M8 motorway & parking, with plenty public transport links nearby. House pizza is superb, sold by the slice. Recommend one slice for a snack, two for closer to a meal. House lager is made by Brewgooder and is DIVINE. Bar music is pop/punk & punk/rock. Would be a good place for a couple beers both during the week and at the weekend. Although it wasn't needed as we were there for opening, reserving a table at the bar for drinks & food was so easy to do via email. Venue upstairs is intimate, but plenty room with a small cloakroom behind the bar and space for merch. There's a small range of seating in the upstairs venue, with accessibility seating available upon request - This is on a raised platform so you can see over the standing crowd. Earplugs are also available at the bar. Absolutely would go again, was able to meet the bands, natter away with them and made it out with our merch, one of The Dollyrots set lists and various plectrums from the performing bands. A fantastic night.

King Tut's. A timeless venue, devoted to UK music, up and coming artists, with diamonds and gems popping up regularly at all times. Most recently I was there seeing Ian Ball and Ben Ottewell from Gomez. It was a tremendous gig, and a highly enjoyable night from start to finish. From walking in, getting a fresh pint in, then having a quick go on the Metallica pinball machine, and a go on the retro Pac-Man table, to having a plinkety plonk on the piano (although, I think if you can't play it, don't. Lol) It's a venue suited for die hard fans, for smaller, more personal up close gigs. But can host one hell of a party. The staircase with artists name is a great touch also, really drilling home to you, just how many legends have been in this venue.

A great and iconic music venue. The main bar area has plenty of seating and a good range of drinks, including craft beers on draught. They also have a decent selection of zero or very low alcohol beers, which is handy if you've driven to see a band. Upstairs is the performance area with its own bar. It's small, capacity is only around 300, giving it an intimate vibe and a great atmosphere. The risers on the stairs have the names of bands that have performed at King Tut's over the years. There are lots and you'll have heard of the vast majority. Loads of parking on the surrounding streets and if you arrive after 6pm it's free. Haven't tried the food so can't comment on that but everything else about the place is spot on.
