This cocktail bar is very nicely decorated and has a lot of potential to be a great place to lounge for drinks. Like a lot of other reviews here mention, the service and workers there seem quite disorganized (although they were kind). We initially weren't sure if we were supposed to receive table service or if we had to go up to the bar. Although it was very empty at this time of the week, we figured out we needed to order at the bar. When we did order drinks, it took excessively long for these drinks to be made. I often found the bartender on their phone texting or chatting with other workers mid-crafting of a drink. In addition to that, the drinks were from the 'happy hour' list and tasted suspiciously plain. I tried 3 cocktails and I felt absolutely nothing, which doesn't make sense for someone like me with a low-mid tolerance to alcohol. It's a very lux and aesthetically pleasing bar that is failed by inattentive and clunky service, it's a shame.

One star because of the racist experience that ruined our good time this night. The bouncers denied entry to two girls of brown skin tone who had their ID and they gave no reason of refusal. We were not drunk or give any attitude, and spent all night dressing up to come here for a friend’s birthday. We were in dresses so it couldn’t have been for our outfits either. Right after we were denied entry two girls of a white background easily got in with no problem. Was very disappointed and shamed that these racial attitudes are still a present in society today. Especially disappointed at the brown-skinned brother who did not stick up for us but followed the white-dominated group instead.

Very poor service. Slow and our waitress was quite rude in the way she spoke to us. She obviously was having a bad day and it showed. Service charge added to bill automatically. We didn't notice until afterwards. Waitress certainly didn't deserve the £20 that was automatically added on. Drinks took forever to come to the table. Service at bar equally slow. Cocktails over priced and poor quality. Glasses sticky. Dirty tables. Glasses not collected. Food good but small portions for prices. Music/ DJ good. Chilled vibes and the actual bar/restaurant decor was gorgeous. Such a shame the staff and quality didn't match the look of the place, otherwise this would be a great spot.

Came here today. Was quite busy. We had previously booked our table. We were taken to the rooftop garden. The place is really nice. There is a nice atmosphere about the place and the decor is lovely. On the downside there was only one staff member and one bartender who was fantastic. I have to say I would have walked out on my job if I was working for this company. She was flitting from table to table. Her bosses certainly get their money's worth from her and the guy behind the bar. A lot of people were leaving as they were having to wait so long to be served. The girl took our our drinks order then we felt terrible having to try and grab her to order or food as we could see she was run off her feet. The food eventually arrived, which was really nice, however there was no cutlery available, which the girl did say she was going to get, but people were arriving and she was trying to show them to their seats, serve the tables and give us cutlery, while the bartender was trying to catch up on the drinks order. The poor girl kept apologising for the wait. I would not recommend the place if your in a rush, but if your happy to wait, which was fine by us then you will be OK. Drinks were OK. Nice vibe to the place. But management should be ashamed of themselves expecting one person to serve all those tables. How that girl kept smiling I will never know. I didn't even catch her name, but my goodness she has the patience of a Saint and if she's reading this review then well done to you for not walking out today. This company does not deserve you. There needs to be a better booking system. We had to move table soon after our food was finished. I understand the 2 hour window for food, however it took 1 and half hours from us arriving to actually placing an order and receiving our food. We then had 20 mins to eat our food and move table if we wanted to, despite the empty tables !!!. Does not make sense. I cannot fault the staff. I blame the management as the staff were lovely. We had planned on staying after our food for drinks but decided like a lot of other people to take our business elsewhere. In the 3 hours we were there we witnessed a partyof 7 leave without being served. A party of 5. Several couples at the table next to ours, came and went without even having a drink. A party of 4. Thats potentially a lot of business leaving, who wont go back, which is a shame as it is a nice place and the food and staff were...

I recently attended a friend's birthday party at Kong, where she had booked three tables and a drinks and snacks package. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing and marred by poor service and unprofessional behavior.

Despite an expected guest list system, we faced long waits at the entrance. Upon arrival, strangers occupied the reserved tables, and the staff made no effort to resolve this. Instead, they tried to remove her guests saying the tables were reserved. Dirty glasses and a delayed drink package further detracted from the night, along with missing and incorrect mixers.

The venue's cleanliness was appalling, with visibly dirty glasses. Overpriced drinks and snacks added to the frustration, feeling like a blatant money grab.

When we tried to return to the rooftop bar from the main bar, a bouncer was aggressively unhelpful, threatening to remove the birthday girl - instead of clarifying the re-entry process to the roof top bar (where her guests and the tables and packages she’d paid for were). Rather than ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment, they seemed more interested in belittling and shouting at guests. This unprofessional behavior continued, culminating in three bouncers forcibly removing her without cause, leaving her outside alone in the rain without her belongings. They did not make any attempt to inform any of her guests of her whereabouts - we were left to worry about her given the phone signal was basically non-existent. Meanwhile, a very drunk and disruptive guest from another party spilled drinks from our table on us, smashing several glasses in the process, and was allowed to stay and continue drinking without any staff intervention.

My friend was obviously very upset by this experience, and it was distressing to see how the bouncers handled her (two large male bouncers and one female bouncer), especially given the amount of money she had spent. Their behavior was entirely unacceptable, leaving her in a dangerous and compromising position.

Overall, I cannot recommend Kong to anyone looking for a fun and safe night out. Our experience reflects issues mentioned in other reviews, which I wish we had taken...

Literally the worst experience I’ve ever had with security staff. I had a private room booked for my birthday last night (8th November) from 8pm which was already paid for. I turned up just before 8pm and security told me I would not be getting in, I told them I had a booking and had already paid for the room and he told me it didn’t matter and I would get refunded. I asked why we couldn’t get in and was told he doesn’t need to give me a reason, I also asked what I was supposed to do about the 23 other people that were due to turn up any minute as there was no chance we would get a booking elsewhere at such late notice and was told it’s not his problem. I continued to ask questions only for him to turn his back to me and completely ignore me which was beyond rude and unprofessional. Asked to speak to management from Kong and was told no as he was head of security. While I was talking to him my boyfriend phoned Kong and spoke to a member of staff there who told us that there was nothing they could do as it’s up to the security team whether people get in or not, and proceeded to state that I would get a refund in 5-7 business days! A group of 5 girls then walked up and were let in straight away 🤣 clearly if security don’t like the look of you then you just don’t get in. I also asked for the security guard’s name and badge number and was told no because I don’t work for police Scotland - even though I’m sure it’s a requirement from security staff to display their badge at all times. Completely baffled by the lack of respect we were given by security and staff from Kong, and if anyone is thinking about going here for drinks or booking a table/room I would avoid at all costs! Thankfully we went next door to The Social and they were able to accommodate us which we were so grateful for at such late notice, and staff/security in there couldn’t have been nicer, would...
