This restaurant is just a barbecue bar, and it is not expensive, this is a personal discrimination and racial discrimination!! The waiter told me that I was alone so I was not allowed in, but there was a woman sitting at the door who came alone. I asked why she could come alone, and the waiter told me that I was not allowed to come alone after six o 'clock. When I asked where the rules came from, he started rolling his eyes at me and then ignored me. It's ridiculousShame on youThe management must be mean people to make these unreasonable rules, many people complained this rule and the dress code rules, you just a cheap restaurant, I have been many fantastic luxury restaurant, never have seen such a ridiculous rule. Please stop emphasizing your absurd and rude rules to guests. These rules are completely unfounded. Have you seen how many negative reviews you've received because of them? It's ridiculous. Your security says that no one is allowed to dine alone after six o'clock. This rule clearly restricts personal freedom and is a violation of rights. If every restaurant had such an unintelligent rule, claiming it's unsafe for someone to dine alone, does that mean people dining alone have no right to eat in restaurants or walk the streets at night? I am not here to drink alcohol. I am a working adult. Even if I were to go to a bar alone in the early morning hours, I would not be refused service. What gives you the right to refuse me? You are a bunch of discriminatory people who do not consider human rights. I've seen many complaints about your rules in the reviews. Why are you so harsh? If you truly cared about your customers, you would consider their feelings and why they might be hungry. I am very curious about the basis for your rules. I asked your security guard, but he couldn't give me an answer and instead rolled his eyes at me. I have never encountered such a stupid rule. This is not only about the rule itself but also about the attitude of your security staff. I simply wanted to know why others can dine alone inside, but I cannot. I strongly suspect racial discrimination, as your security not only refused me entry but also ignored me, rolled his eyes, and impatiently told me to leave.

This was a mixed bag for me. The atmosphere was great and the cocktails were amazing, so tasty and so much fun (I especially liked the one with the little rubber duck in it) However, we had looked on the website the night before and had seen the "market menu" which was 2 courses and a cocktail for ÂŁ20, when I enquired about this I was told it would have needed to be pre booked. There was no mention of having to pre book on the website and all the choices were already on the menu so I didn't understand why. This meant if we got 1 course and 1 cocktail it was more expensive than that deal. We had more drinks which we would have done anyway but we'd have preferred to have more food and a better price point. I had the burger and chips and I wasn't the biggest fan. The burger came with no sauce or relish or anything so was really dry and the chips were really greasy meaning I left a lot of my dish. I felt ÂŁ16 for the burger and chips was a bit excessive. My friends had the prawn linguine and said that it could have done with being a bigger portion and more prawns would have been nicer. We all left hungry which wasn't great for the price. The staff were very attentive and friendly though so I think next time we will eat elsewhere and just come to The Social for drinks.

Back up the road for a rare visit, working doon in the South East most days, so when I finally get a night in my hometown, I’m looking for a dram and a bit of peace. Tried to get into Kong next door, but apparently flying solo makes you a security risk, cheers for that! Ended up stumbling into The Social next door, and thank the whisky gods I did. Calum, the barman, greeted me like an old pal and served up an Old Fashioned that could make Sinatra weep. Not just good, it was proper. The man’s got cocktail knowledge deeper than Loch Ness and hands steadier than a pipe major on parade. Every stir, every garnish, every wee flourish, done with care and pride. Felt like I was back in the mess with a glass that actually respected the whisky. So aye, if you’re in Glasgow and fancy a drink that’s mixed with skill and served with soul, skip the bouncers at Kong and head straight to Calum at The Social. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why coming home’s worth it. Slainte

One of the most overrated places I've ever been to. The service was disgraceful when we didn't go to the bar the waiters came to the tables and asked to take your order. We done it twice wished we hadn't, on these occasions drinks were wrong, it took them 4 times to get 1 of the drinks correct!! We asked for a Hendricks and slimline tonic and they brought gin and lime cordial (tasted like a cheap gin not Hendricks) 2nd time they brought it with lemonade, 3rd time they brought a single that we asked for and charged us a double and fourth time lucky I got my drink however tasted cheap and no way was Hendricks. They seem to be scammers and charge you ÂŁ7.50 a drink (scandalous) and give you cheap alternative alcohol not the one you ask for!! And fold the receipt in half for you not to see what they're charging you and hand you the card machine. Dj who started at 6pm was very basic playing chart songs till 8pm just sounded like the radio was playing and no different form playlist they had on before him. Then by 8.30/9.00 was playing kind of remix songs. We had spent 4 hours in the place sitting at a table, spent alot of money by this point to be told by the waitress that they need the table by 9.15 for a sitting at 9.30. Was left to stand and by 10pm no one had turned up for the table still. This is poor customer service and disgusting to treat anyone like this who has spent 4 hours in your bar spending money and you kick them off a seat!! All they're interested in is getting hundreds of pounds for their booths not just couples who want to just have a drink. Atmosphere was awful still by 10pm the tables/chairs were all over the dance floor area resulting in people dancing around all the tables and aisles resulting in people bumping into you and drinks spilled etc. Would not recommend this place to anyone and will...

So disappointed. I attended a mama Mia cocktail master class hen party for my friends daughter. One of the party ( a lady in her 40s) was a bit drunk and they refused to serve the whole party, we offered to take the lady out and did so straight away. They still took over an hour to give us even a drink ( not even a soft one) never mind the master class. Eventually we were shown some cocktails 15 mins before we had to leave for the next part of the hen party ( vega roof top bar , the service there was amazing ) . The social let the bride down badly to say the least, and this was the most expensive part of the events ( nearing ÂŁ800) we went back and spoke to the manager the next morning who said he would look into the matter but that his staff had told him that our party was too drunk to be served .i believed he had listened but was incredibly disappointed to learn that he only refunded the prosesco that was supposed to be given on arrival (ÂŁ150) and seemed to believe that our guests were to blame. We were completely ignored for most of the night and this is totally unacceptable. I am not one to complain but I would feel really strongly that this was an excuse by the social staff because they were busy serving outside guests on a very sunny afternoon. Thank goodness we had good service for other parts of the hen do but I feel our poor bride was let down incredibly badly by the social bar and would not reccomend trusting this establishment for any special occasions...
