Mango Tropical — Restaurant in Scotland

Usual absolutely love this space. Always come here Fridays to dance bachata and because I love it so much always come with plenty of friends to introduce them to the scene. The staff is usually very friendly and I always feel safe. Bouncers are also very fair and friendly. And I can only imagine its a tricky job but usually they find the right balance. SADLY i am very disappointed about todays experience. We arrive at 11:30 a little later than usually. Because one of my friends was not wearing appropriate wear we split our group up and I accompanied my friend with inappropriate wear to a different place to make sure my friend is okay ( this was suggested by the male bouncer) to return the other part of my friends at Mango only to be told that I was not be let in as I was alone by female colleague(for health and safety reasons). While this makes sense in part, they knew that my friends had already entered 10 min ago which I again told them ( bouncers recognised me). But I was told my friends should get me. I told them that I had messaged but messages wasn't going through as the bachata floor is in the basement. Showed the messages.The bad connection is well known by the staff. The staff( very unfriendly) let me stand there for ages (30min) in the cold until I was lucky enough that one of the teachers came out to tell them that it was okay. Even then they were reluctant and rude. This is very sad because I am a regular customer of the club and have brought many new customers into the club simply because I had good experiences. When I finally entered it was empty so I am surpised how they felt the way to turn people away like that who are part of the dance scene.Sharing this experience with my friends i was told this is only common with one female bouncer. Maybe she needs a reminder that while safet rules are important alienating loyal customers for the sake of it may not be the best. Expecially if you know I am not alone so the rule...

I'd give this place no stars if I could....

tried to get into Mango last night for halloween and the door staff picked one of our friends out of the group to say he was barred from the place for 3 months for something he done 3 weeks ago when he wasn't even there in that time line. I questioned the door staff to why he is barred and I was very polite and just asking a question when the female door guard said "I'm having a bad night don't make it worse" she also not only was being dismissive but she was also being aggressive by shouting and swearing at me and my friends for simply asking her a question. Another door guard bigger built and ginger hair then got involved as I could hear him making a remark to one of my friends saying "I'd take your friend away from the door if I was you" which is a threat. We also pulled them up as the one person they pinned out of the group is Muslim and we said to them last night that they were being racist pointing him out of the group who is the person is apparently barred for 3 months. The polish door guard was also there laughing at myself and friends trying to figure out why he was barred from mango when he has done nothing wrong. Telling them their customer service skills need improvement as I've done nothing wrong but simply asking a question and getting threatened, swore at and also been called a "karen" for sticking up for myself is disrespectful. I'd swerve this nightclub cause the door staff don't have any sort of skills to communicate with any members of the public and only know how to threaten people. I myself work in the security industry and wouldn't dare talking to people the way they did, they think cause they have a badge they're god when in reality they're...

Great place for Latin dancing especially Bachata and Salsa. Love the vibe. Drinks are okay but slightly pricey. One thing which is really disappointing is that the cloak room is no where to be found and very badly sign posted. We would have loved to leave our jackets in the cloak room but it was not identifiable when we arrived for dance classes ( probably because it was still closed, we used a different entrance) nor did anyone know as the sign posting is just terrible. Hence people end up leaving jackets everywhere. My friends jackets where stolen with house keys. Bouncers were really unhelpful when this happened.In the interest of the place's security, cloak room the bar should work on making the cloaks room more accessible and in general push towards it being used. Similar security issues occurred a while back in a bar on bath street and they responded by introducing a identifiable and affordable cloak room so that there was no piles of stuff everywhere.
