Myself and my partner arrived at our reservation which we thought was at 7.30pm, we arrived on time but were then told that our reservation was actually booked from 7pm, so a mistake on our end. However we felt that the waitress that showed us to our table was visibly annoyed that we had shown up late (again, our mistake) but then sharply telling us that we had only 45 minutes to sit down, order, eat and go. We were made to feel slightly uncomfortable by arriving late, and therefore we very quickly decided what to eat and drink in a few minutes to avoid any more comments from the waitress. The food was great, no faults there! Overall a slightly ruined experience based on the service from this waitress, who might need to work on her people skills when serving customers as we were made to feel awkward and uncomfortable and as if she wanted us to leave. We would have let the staff know about this at the end of our meal, however when we asked for the bill, at no point did the waiter ask us how the food was or if everything was okay, and again when he delivered the bill, we were not asked how everything was and were just hastily presented with the card machine with no questions asked. We could hear the couple behind us also complaining about this waiters lack of customer service as well so we were not the only ones with this experience. Won’t be back in a hurry which is a shame as the...
Read moreI'd say this is a decent place to fill a hole in your stomach but not for a night out or anything. I was a LITTLE disappointed with the set-up compared to how it looked online. We ordered off the lunch menu in the end which was decent, good flavours.
Had an issue with a voucher which was my fault initially but in the end I felt could have been handled better. I'd followed Mezcal for ages and we'd come up from Manchester, I'd purchased a voucher to use there. I then noted on the way it was for September so I emailed the restaurant to ask could we use it for Wednesday afternoon late August. No-one came back to me. I called and explained, the girl who answered got the manager who said everything would be fine to use it still and to pop in - that was nice.
When we did pop in the guy then serving/managing said no we could not and that was pretty much it. I felt it could have been dealt with better i.e. respond to my email (still no response) and don't give me two separate informations with the last one unhelpful. I didn't like the fella, he was abit like 'yeah, can't use it, it won't scan' - he just felt stand-offish.
Also for 'the best Mezcal collection in Scotland' the choice was about 7 or 8 bottles which you can easily buy off Amazon.
Plus point the girl with dark hair who served us...

I can describe Mezcal in two words: "Hipster Bait".
Overpriced and under flavored. Not a bad fusion of Baja and Glaswegian.
The "Tortilla chips" were at least made in house but the quality and portion size of the guacamole appetizer leaves a lot to be desired. The tortilla chips themselves were tiny, burnt, and tasteless and the guacamole, while technically including all the prerequisite ingredients, somehow managed to be bland and flavorless.
The entree was decent, I had the Asada tacos, but the most basic part of any Mexican plate, beans and rice, were extra. I say the tacos were decent because they didn't taste bad but assuredly did not live up to the genre of Mexican food.
The appetizer came out with the entree which is less than ideal especially considering the quality of the tortillas and guacamole.
The margaritas were okay. They were not so bad that the ice melted in the glass before I drank it but damn sure not good enough to order a second one.
The music was so painfully loud as to make conversation impossible but there was a DJ, and PBR on tap (see above comment about hipster bait).
Overall not a bad experience just don't go in with high...
