Updated review-
My friend from London was visiting Glasgow this week so I decided to take her to Non Viet. Normally I would visit the Great Western Road restaurant but decided today we could try the one located on Sauchiehall street. Upon arrival (2:30pm) we were greeted by a girl who took us to our table. First impression seemed fine even though no smile but I could deal with that. The restaurant was occupied by a large table and a few single diners. Although there were plenty of tables available the girl attempted to seat us right next the the big table which then I asked if we could sit by the wall where there was more privacy and space. A general practice I would like to think. When we were ready to order I grabbed the attention of the other waitress who was on duty and she was very pleasant and even had a smile. We ordered a beef pho each along with crispy spring rolls, summer rolls and an egg pancake to share. The food came out swiftly and the request of extra coriander was delivered. The beef pho was a good sized portion with a piping hot aromatic soup base. Summer rolls and crispy rolls were also well made and delicious. However, the egg pancake seemed like it had been pre made as the pancake was dry stale and tasteless. Not how it should be served. Halfway through eating, the waitress who seated us dropped our bill onto the table and said “we are closing in 10minutes”. This was at 2:50pm- so 20minutes since we had been seated. We didn’t know the restaurant closed at 3pm so we said to each other to eat quickly and get out their way so they can close up. 2 minutes after the waitress dropped us our bill she came up to the table with her card machine ready and said to us “You need to pay now. We close in 5minutes”. This was all while we were trying to gulp down our food as quickly as we can. Had we known or been made aware they close at 3pm we would have not intruded and probably gone elsewhere if they were going to rush us out before they even close! I paid cash and vacated the restaurant at 3:03pm leaving a tip for the other waitress who took our order- she thanked us and wished us a good day.
Based on this visit to Sauchiehall st Non Viet I am somewhat dissatisfied. Next time at least try and be nice in front of the customers and if you want to cuss behind their backs so be it, but rushing them out before closing time is unacceptable IMO. A “Sorry, we close shortly so just whenever you are ready” would be a better approach in the future.

Been twice and both times consistent. Pho is hot which it should be and not tepid warm like the other Vietnamese restaurant in Glasgow....
Read moreSo this place is relatively new to us, maybe a couple of months, and already we've returned twice. Thanks to its interior design you can go day or night and you always get that cosy feeling.
From the moment you arrive you are looked after and made to feel welcome by the friendly staff.
One aspect we really enjoy is the open kitchen, and whats amazing, no matter how busy these guys get they never seem to break a sweat... calm as highland coos.
There are a good selection of drinks, we enjoy the fresh carrot and oj juice and their traditional Vietnamese coffee is awesome. Of course they serve beer and wines too.
The food... well, as with everything else, its wonderful, really really fresh, and as far as I'm aware, authentic. The shaking beef is an absolute must... but having tried a good selection of their dishes, you cant go wrong.
Please support this place and give it a try, so many businesses come and go on this street, this one is a diamond...
Read moreNon Viet has always been our go-to restaurant whenever we visit Glasgow, especially for pho. We went yesterday for pho noodle soup (mixed beef), and as always, it was excellent – authentic, fragrant, and never disappoints. The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.
However, our takeaway experience was very disappointing. We ordered 3 pork lemongrass & chili vermicelli and 1 squid lemongrass & chili vermicelli. Unfortunately, the squid was uncooked (still transparent when opened at home), and none of the bowls contained the cucumber or pickles that were listed on the menu. All four bowls turned out quite tasteless, which was a big letdown after our lovely pho experience. On top of that, it also caused my stomach upset after eating the meal, which made the experience even more upsetting.
We truly love Non Viet for pho and the dine-in service, but sadly the takeaway vermicelli dishes did not meet...
