Good range of drinks and our party all enjoyed our respective orders.
Unfortunately when trying to get seated for our booking we were dealt with by a less-than-kind staff member.
Despite showing the booking reference number and confirmation email for the booking, I was asked when I made the booking. I said last night to which the worker murmured "Of course you did" in a snarky tone while walking away. ?? Not sure how that would be relevant in the first place if your website says there is a booking available and I take it. Really struggled to understand how our party could be in the wrong with confirmation in hand. Next up we were told that another worker would clear the booth and seat us, but over the loud music I struggled to hear so simply replied "Are we alright then?" to which the worker replied, louder this time "So as I've just said, we will clear the booth and seat you etc." even managed to throw in a "you know, need to listen!" Even without the loud music, we had members in our party partially deaf, so if they were the one listening would they have received the same attitude for not hearing the first time? Overall, despite them stating that it was a fault on their system in the end, we did not feel welcome at all on arriving.
Further on after sorting the booking, the worker aptly pointed out that we had turned up with 7 people for a 6 person booking. Even though we had researched the place and knew that a booking for 6 would definitely allow for an additional member, the worker made a big deal of checking whether the large booth would fit us, and even demanded we say "please"? as if they were a primary school teacher. We could have rang and confirmed that they could seat 7 in any case however, which is a fault on our end.
Probably the most odd encounter I've had with a staff member anywhere. Admittedly made for a decent laugh between our group, and thankfully didn't manage to ruin our new year...
Read moreWe had a table booked for a 40th bday this Saturday for 9 people. We arrived at 5.10pm and expected the table until 6.30pm . Agreed we were unfortunately held behind at previous venue so we're regrettably 10 mins late for the booking. Nothing was said at the time, until 6.10pm the manager came over and told us the people who had the table from 6.30pm were early therefore we needed to leave the table.
We explained we had the table booked until 6.30pm to then be told we were 'rude' with bad time management and as we were late we forfeited the booking. He told us we were rude for not calling and letting them know we were running late .. when we explained we had and they didn't answer... he said they were busy so what did we expect.... ? We are rude for not calling ahead but when our call isn't answered that it also our fault.? The people who came early have priority over us because we were 10 mins late?
I've never been spoken to by a manager so rudely, he threatened to have us all thrown out by bouncers if we didn't move... we literally tried to explain and apologise but we were met with arrogance and absolute unwilling to listen to reason. 9 of us finishing our drinks which most of us had to leave without finishing for fear of being dragged out by bouncers... very unprofessional and has certainly put us off ever returning to...
Read moreI want to start this reviewing my saying bamboo door is one of my favourite places to go on a night out. I have a hard time seeing why anyone would give this place anything less than 5*. Not only do they do amazing drinks, but they always offer impeccable customer service. Kayleigh has really contributed a lot to the atmosphere of bamboo, and always makes sure customers are okay. If you have any concerns or issues. Gergo the bouncer is one of my favourites in Sheffield, he is always happy to listen and make sure your time at bamboo remains an unforgettable experience. Whether itâs having starting the night with a few drinks with your friends, or ending it at bamboo, the bar staff: Jack, Connor and Ariane always manage to make a drink that sorts you out. We love bamboo door in...
