After a day spent climbing Pen Y Fan, a mountainous hunger grumbling in bellies, we headed out for All You Can Eat. We weren't actually meant to go to Joyato - we were passing by it on our way to another buffet. The sign caught our eye and we decided to chance it. Best decision! I was initially a bit dubious about the ordering process but, after the first round of ordering, I absolutely loved it. The food came out hot and fresh! We didn't love every dish we ordered but we certainly loved most of them. High praise for the harumaki, yaki soba and the grilled duck, which I don't see on the online menu but it was available to order at the restaurant. The wakame was also really nice. I really enjoyed the texture. While the flavour of the beef and lamb Kushiyaki was lovely, we found the meat a bit tough, but, chalked that up to the AYCE model. The service was friendly and even though we were seated near the kitchen, it didn't take away from the dinning experience. All in all, a very good first impression. I look forward to dinning at Joyato again.

Friday night and we came for my birthday meal and chose the all you can eat. But this is not a Buffett this is order 4 small plates each every ten minutes and the food arrives as cooked and prepared to your table very swiftly and efficiently . Good wine choices and options and great clean and tasty Japanese food. Also some Korean options . You have a 2 hour window and up to ten rounds of orders in that time . We were keen to try most things but maxed out full after 26 plates between us. Desserts were really tasty and small as just as well as I was stuffed. Kind and attentive staff but not intrusive . For a fixed price each it was really good value. You do need to be organised and choose swiftly and be thinking what is next when you coming to the end of your recent order of small plates but it was quite exciting concept of sort of fast Japanese tapas . Wonderful team - we will be back to try more without doubt

We arrived at Joyato at 5pm and were warmly welcomed by a staff member who explained the menu and how the ordering system worked. Orders are placed through a QR code at the table, with each person able to select up to five dishes every 15 minutes. The food arrived promptly after each order, and we were impressed by the range and quality. We sampled a variety of dishes, including the Korean BBQ plate, and everything was tasty, and very filling. Small desserts were included, which was a lovely finishing touch—though we were absolutely stuffed by that point! Overall, the service was friendly, the food was delicious, and the ordering process was smooth and modern. We would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a casual, delicious dining experience with great value.

My partner and I ate here back in mid-May during the buy one get one 50% when the promo expired 30th May. I was excited to finally see an all you can eat sushi (AYCE) menu in Swansea. However our experience was disappointing, and we will not be returning. The restaurant itself is furnished quite nice and modern. The host/server was very kind, she explained to us how the ordering system worked using a QR code when she sat us at our table. It was here that she let us know that there was a 2-hour time limit and that you could only order 4 dishes per person every 10 minutes, and that you could only order up to 10 or 11 rounds. This is not made known on their website. (However I see the targeted IG ads now have included this). The 2-hour time limit is made known to you not on the main page of their website, but in the T&C's page. I have never been to an AYCE sushi in which you are only allowed to order 4 dishes per person every 10 minutes. Our food service was extremely slow, food would take 30 minutes or so to arrive, we ordered the unlimited refill drink and even our glasses came very late. Sushi items arrived a smidge quicker but cooked food arrived extremely late after ordering. We didn't get everything from every round. The cooked foods were tasty, sushi was alright. I found the tempura batter was too heavy and thick. After about an hour into service, I asked two servers about our food that hadn't arrived and it was at this point that the servers let us know that the kitchen was about one hour behind service - this should have been mentioned when we were sat at our table and is disappointing that it was not told to us. Other tables around us were also asking why their food had not arrived and that they were waiting more than half an hour for their food. The restaurant was not even half full of guests, and it seemed like there were only two chefs in the kitchen. My partner and I decided to leave about 1.5 hours after seating and my partner left hungry. A few days later I received an automatic generic feedback e-mail from Joyato and I provided the same response as above and have not received any e-mails back from the owners/managers of Joyato responding to my experience - in the end I hope that they took what was said and can make changes for the better...

Stellar Sushi Experience at Joyato I recently had the pleasure of dining at Joyato, and I can confidently say it was one of the best sushi experiences I've ever had. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was inviting, and the décor perfectly blended traditional and modern elements, creating an ideal atmosphere for an exquisite meal.

The food is a sushi lover's dream. The variety of dishes is astounding, with options ranging from the freshest sashimi and nigiri to creative rolls that showcase the chef's innovative flair. Each dish we tried was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality and flavour. The seared sirloin and Duck were particular standouts, bursting with fresh, vibrant flavours and beautifully presented.

What truly sets Joyato apart, however, is the exceptional service. I have an unusual allergy to white fish, which can make dining out a challenge. When I mentioned this to our server, they didn't just take note; they went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was safe and enjoyable. The Host personally came to discuss my allergy and even brought the packaging for me to view the ingredients. This level of care and attention to detail was incredibly reassuring and made me feel valued as a guest.

Throughout our meal, the staff was attentive without being intrusive, always ready to more orders for drinks or answer any questions we had about the menu. Their knowledge and enthusiasm for the food were evident, and their warm, friendly demeanour made our afternoon even more enjoyable.

In conclusion, Joyato is a gem in the world of sushi restaurants. The extraordinary selection of dishes, combined with the outstanding service and attention to customer needs, makes it a must-visit for sushi enthusiasts and anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. I can't wait to return and explore more of their delectable offerings. Highly...

Joyato in Swansea has been open for about a year now and it looks like they plan to expand into other locations. You’d expect by now they would be fully prepared for busy days, especially with it being all you can eat. However, it was clear they were not prepared for the busy period we visited.

I love the concept. It’s supposed to be freshly cooked all you can eat, where you can order 5 dishes per person every 15 minutes. But there was some confusion, as all the menus said 4 dishes every 10 minutes. It didn’t bother us too much as it didn’t really make a difference.

Around 50% of what I had I genuinely enjoyed, and the same goes for my partner. The rest was a mix of cold food, dishes that seemed to have sat around too long and gone chewy, and some that were overly greasy.

That said, I would still return. The value for money is decent considering how much you can try, even if the plates are small.

The main letdown was the wait. We ordered our first 10 dishes, then another 10 after 15 minutes. It took around 30 minutes before anything came out, but once it started, the food came out quickly and in bursts. We ended up ordering 29 dishes in total and things got a bit overwhelming for us and the small wobbly table we were sat at.

Credit where it’s due, the staff were good with clearing plates and keeping on top of things. Most were friendly, apart from one waiter who spilled soy sauce on me while rushing and didn’t even apologise, just walked off.

I’m glad I tried it as I got to sample things I wouldn’t normally go for. Hopefully next time it’s a bit more balanced and...
