Please consider I've normally had very pleasant dining experiences at this establishment. Tonight's experience left MUCH to be desired.
Tonight was possibly one of the worst dining experiences I've had in years. Let's set the scene.
I had ordered my food via the app, as I had normally done. I was brought my drink first, which was good. But this is where things went sour. My food arrived. I had ordered a 12oz Rump Steak, and had paid extra for peppercorn sauce and 6 onion rings. The additions were not on the plate whatsoever. Even with these, they wouldn't have improved the rest of the meal. The steak was so tough, the fat was almost solid that I couldn't eat it, and the chips tasted horrifically undercooked, and overseasoned.
I don't know what caused a massive deviance from the almost exquisite food I have recieved and eaten in this establishment in the past, whether it was the Wales v Ireland game, or the chef was newly hired or whatever, but while I didn't want to let this experience taint my overall thoughts of the food from this establishment, it was so bad, it...
Read moreMy mother, who is a double amputee, recently visited The Potters Wheel with my brother. They ordered breakfast, and after consuming part of her meal (specifically half a sausage and a hash brown), my mother went to the bar to order a drink while my brother briefly visited the restroom. Upon returning, they discovered that both the food and drinks had been cleared away.
Rather than offering an apology or replacing the meal, the staff stated they would need to review the CCTV footage—this led nowhere. I later visited the premises myself to request information on how to make a formal complaint. Instead of being given the procedure, I was told that if I did not leave the premises, the police would be called.
This matter will be pursued further, and I intend to provide an update regarding the outcome.
Note for future visitors: While the food is inexpensive, be aware that no apology or refund was provided. If you leave your table—even briefly—to order a drink or use the restroom, your meal may be removed...
Read moreAfter struggling to find anywhere to eat that served vegan meals, we decided to go to Wetherspoons as we'd never had a problem before. After ordering and having our drinks brought to our table, we were then told that they'd sold out of vegan burgers. We decided on another meal, however, the choices left didn't allow us to have the free drink. We were offered another drink on top of what we already had, but I would have preferred it if they had offered the first drink free by way of a goodwill gesture as I always struggle to get through one drink, let alone two. When the meal arrived, it was evident that the rice had been reheated in a microwave as it was all clumped together. During this time other people on a table next to us had ordered at the bar and were later told that they would also have to change their option as there were no vegan burgers left. Surely this should show up on either the app, or definitely when...
