Every single time I go there, they manage to screw up my order! One time they forgot my food. Then the cooks in the back blamed me because they said someone else picked it up because I left it there (which my buzzer never went off)! Today they over-charged me for something that was supposed to be advertised as on special. After I paid and added tip, I went to my table and realized that it was wrong. I went back up to the register to tell the girl and she said "Okay, we'll just refund it back to your card. I said, well don't you need my card?" "No." "Well how do I know this will be refunded without a new receipt or anything. Also, I tipped based on the incorrect amount. Can I just see my receipt?" "Oh, we'll change that for you!" "How can you change that without my concent? That part usually shouldn't be changed without the customer's initials or something."

So I finally convinced her that this needed to be corrected while I was on site. She admitted to actually needing to run my card again. She re-ran it with the corrected amount, but left the tip on it, and didn't tell me (and actually insisted that they don't charge tip till the end of the night.). So listening to her, I added tip again. That's when I saw the other receipt with the tip added. So my tip went from $4 to $6.50 which was a 50% tip! (I originally already tipped OVER 20% even though they suck!) She ran my card a few times insisting it was corrected, but I got back to my desk at work and saw that each "correction" all came off my bank account. I'm sure this can possibly be cleared up with the manager when I call him in a little bit, but I'm furious because all of this could've been avoided if she had just given me my original receipt like I asked in the first place so I could edit the amount on that.

On top of all this, today they forgot my friend's food too. She later brought it to our table (also blaming that on us) saying that I left his order at the counter when I grabbed mine - not knowing that despite her giving both of us 2 different buzzers, she actually put both orders on the same one.

UPDATE* I called the restaraunt and asked to speak with the manager. The cashier answered and said he wasn't there and asked if I wanted to leave a message. I asked her when he'd be in, and she said not till Wednesday with no way to contact him before then. I asked then if he would be able to call me today. Then another man got onto the phone and introduced himself as the manager. Despite the cashier being a bit shady at 1) refunding my card, and 2) letting me speak to the manager, I have to say that their management is at least very nice. After speaking with Hoss, he has taken care of everything and gave me a discount for my next visit! So I have updated my review from a 1-star to 3. (Customer service makes ALL the...

We visited this place for the first time and loved it so much we went back a few days later. First visit we tried the tilapia tacos which come with a pretty hefty bed of rice and beans. The sauce on the tilapia is light and refreshing. The ceviche was finger-licking good; spicy with robust flavors. My son had ordered the chicken fingers with fries. The fingers were a pretty good size. The kids meals come in a very cute boat and include a hush puppy. Second visit, I had to have the tilapia tacos again. They tasted just like the first time; rich in flavor. My son ordered the cheese burger w/ fries and also came with a hush puppy. The burger was also a good size (not small at all). They offer self-serve drinks which include lemonade, sweet/un-sweet tea, and the good ice!! Service was quick. The ambiance was interesting with a wall of Billy Bass Fish. Bring yours in and you will receive a catfish basket!! They also have a very nice patio and plenty of seating inside. We will be back...

I ordered the grilled tilapia with grilled veggies something pretty simple you would think.. Well let me tell you that was the worst grilled dish ive ever eaten. The veggies weren't fully grilled and the tilapia had no flavor what so ever. I was with a group of 5 and no one was satisfied with anything that was ordered. The only decent meal was the fried catfish basket which my brother had ordered. No one was a happy camper when we left out of those doors. I went on a sunday it wasn't busy at all so they had plenty of time to prepare something delightful and pleasant but instead it was opposite of that. I was very disappointed i will never go back. Awshucks and Alligator Cafe are definitely killing this place hands down. The staff/cashier was not helpful at all that was my first time dining in and i didnt feel welcomed instead rushed to order my food. No recommendations from the worker and to top it off she was very rude as well. Would not...

If you're looking for authentic cajun food I would not recommend. We went for lunch and set on the patio and that was probably the best part of our experience. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp po boy and I had 2lbs of crawfish and a cup of seafood gumbo. The shrimp was flattened and so heavily breaded that we thought it was catfish. They also put cocktail sauce on the sandwich and that was an unpleasant surprise. He didn't even finish half of it. The crawfish tasted dirty and underwhelming. I ordered spicy and there was no spice or flavor. The only thing we did enjoy was the gumbo but that alone is not enough for us to return. I would not recommend 😬

Came here 'cuz my better half wanted crab legs and crawfish and I saw that there was a free Volta charging station nearby for my Chevy Bolt. After spending 2 years living in Grand Isle, Louisiana, I'm picky about my boiled shrimp and crawfish (we learned what it REALLY is supposed to taste like living there!) Flying Fish did NOT disappoint!!! 90% as good as we used to boil it back on the island!!! (Which means better than 99.99% of places you'll find outside of Louisiana 😂) Definitely returning here next time we're in the DFW!
