The restaurant is beautiful and I was really excited to have another steakhouse in FN Dallas to complement Bienat’s and Chsmberlain’s. But once you get beyond the decor, unfortunately there no reason to come back. Simply, the food was not very good.
We were a party of 5 and for an appetizer the waiter really pushed the “seafood tower.” Not only was it just a small bowl, it wasn’t good and there wasn’t even enough food for all 5 of us. If it only fed four the waiter should have mentioned that and offered to add enough so everyone could get a bite. He didn’t, which turned out to be fine because behind the medium sized shrimp, nothing else was memorable. The 4 small oysters were okay, but the “lobster” looked dried out and small and tasted even worse. It wasn’t sweet like lobster usually is and had 0 flavor. The “crab claws” were even worse—no crab meat whatsoever. We also ordered French fries as an appetizer and they tasted great but came out lukewarm.
Steaks were mixed. I had the $120 bone in dry aged strip. It came on a wooden slab with salt on fire (?) which was the most exciting part. I ordered the steak medium rare and it was definitely more rare than medium rare. Fine, that happens. I didn’t send it back bc when you do that it comes back well done. As for the flavor I just didn’t care for it. I ended up eating about 1/4 of it. My dining companions thought their steaks were ok but nothing special. For sides we ordered the cheesy potatoes, mushrooms, and onion rings. Besides the size of the onion rings—which was massive—the sides were tiny. I only got about two tablespoons worth of potatoes and a few mushrooms, which was fine because both were just okay. The onion rings were very good!
The salads were all fine. I had a wedge which was on the small side for $15. Dressings were good, though.
One of our party was celebrating a birthday so they brought out two small slices of cake—one a chocolate cake and the other a pecan cake. Neither were standouts and honestly tasted like they were from a mix. Not the rich Moist cake you expect from an expensive steakhouse. We also ordered a piece of cheesecake, which was very tasty.
Don’t bother with the bread service. Ours came late, was served on a white napkin that was placed on our table minutes after we sat down but then sat empty for an hour (no plate, which was weird), which I would not have cared about if it was good, but it wasn’t. It looked and tasted like it was frozen and reheated. Some steakhouses deprioritize bread service which I don’t get—it’s easy to make and serve delicious bread. But if this is the best a restaurant can do, need to consider either a new pastry chef (or outsource to LaCasita or another top bakery).
Like the old iii Forks they came around with tomato slices and green onions. I remember the tomato slices being giant and meaty. Unfortunately, like the seafood tower earlier, these were sad looking and added nothing.
I hope the restaurant gets things together because like I said it would be great to have another place to go, but unless it improves dramatically we won’t be back. There’s just to many other...
Read moreMy husband and I were excited to get a chance to dine here, as it was over first date night without our kids in over 2 years. Unfortunately, the excitement quickly wore off after entering the restaurant. We had reservations, and were quickly seated at our table. The hostess sat us in a smaller table for 2. I noticed there were a few larger booths near us open. I choose not to ask for a larger table despite that, as I previously worked in the restaurant industry and know how frustrating it can be for guests to move tables. Quite some time went by before we were even acknowledged by our server. She finally took our drink orders, and went over the menu since it was our first time dining there. I can no longer eat red meat due to dietary restrictions, so I choose the fish “special” or the day. I was promised it was going to be quite tasty. My husband choose a steak. I had to use the ladies room, and noticed how it was needing some attention. We finally got our entrees. My fish was already lukewarm. I missed the tomato’s that the restaurant apparently serves while I was in the restroom and I was not offered them again. My husband and I decided as we were eating our main entree we would not stay for dessert since we were displeased with the food. We noticed our server walk past our table several times but didn’t engage with us. It was apparent at that time, she was choosing to focus on the tables that were going to make her more money than ours. One of the server attendants came to clean up our plates, and knocked an entire side of sauce all over the new dress I was wearing. Our sever finally came over and brought me what looked like a dirty cleaning rag. I went to the restroom, and at this point the bathroom was completely out of paper towels. I had to use Kleenex to try to get the sauce off my dress. I returned back to the table without an apology from my server, or any offer to have my dress dry cleaning paid for. We spent over $250 on our meal. I had my dress cleaned and it is ruined from the sauce. Therefore, our meal was more like $500. I am utterly disappointed and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food, service, and ambiance do not equate to the cost. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere...
Read moreHosted a party of eight on September 20. We arrived early for check-in. The hostess greeted us and took us to the bar as the dining room wasn't open. Once the restaurant opened, we were taken to a private room. My goodness, the private room exceeded our expectations. I thought we would be seated in the main dining room.
Then our waiter, Chase, introduced himself and did a superb job. Chase took great care of everyone. He made sure things were flowing with the pace of dinner. There was nothing out of order or confusing. He explained the menu in detail so that it was easy to select.
If you ever go to this location, ask for Chase! He gives you a great experience, and his customer service is unmatched. I cannot tell you when we've experienced this level of service, especially with a party of 8. Chase was incredible and attentive. Great job, sir. You did a fantastic job!
I'm sure the employees are great, too, but I can only speak about the service given. However, the interaction I had with some of the other employees was great. Everyone was extremely helpful and polite. The atmosphere and the quality of service made the experience wonderful!
The restrooms were top-tier—clean and fully stocked. When I say a great experience, you will be glad you went. It was...
