Dear Management,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment with my recent visit to your establishment on Saturday, July 7th, 2024. My friend and I had chosen your restaurant for a peaceful evening of food and live music, but unfortunately, our experience was marred by a disturbing altercation.
During our visit, an argument between a drunken patron and one of your employees escalated into a physical confrontation involving multiple staff members. Witnessing six employees physically overpowering a single patron was not only distressing but also deeply concerning for the safety of all patrons present.
It was evident to me that the situation could have been handled differently and more professionally. Resorting to physical violence instead of seeking assistance from local law enforcement was, in my opinion, a poor judgment call. Such actions not only endanger the patrons but also reflect poorly on the reputation of your establishment.
As a result of this incident, I no longer feel safe or comfortable returning to Memphis Piano Bar-Shuck-N-Jive. The disregard for customer safety and the inability to manage conflicts in a responsible manner have left a lasting negative impression on me.
I hope that you will take this feedback seriously and consider implementing better protocols for handling such situations in the future. Your patrons deserve to feel safe and valued during their...

I called and reserved a table for New Year's Eve 2017 and requested one on the platform near the bar because the ones on the floor are too close to the stage (LOUD). I was told it was no problem and we would have a table where we requested. When my daughter and I arrived, all of the tables were taken. First, some slick, junior mafia looking guy tried to haggle me into taking a random table in the back. I humbly declined and kindly asked for a refund, and told him we would just go somewhere else. Of course he says, "We don't give refunds and if you don’t like it, you can get out.”
Then, I asked for the manager. Shockingly, the manager backed him up. He told me, "I don't believe he told you that, you are lying." I was so embarrassed because my daughter was home from college and I had really built this place up to her as being something awesome (because I looove the bands!). I continued to stand there waiting for a refund of my $50 and finally, the manager shoved $25 in my hand and said "There," then, walked away from me. I chose to leave because my kid was with me and I don't see her very often and it was New Year's Eve. We made the best of the night and found a cool place nearby - Nate's.
Additionally, Memphis needs to ban the smoking inside...
Read moreI’ve come here for maybe 15 hrs when I would visit from Houston. The food never a disappointment. The gumbo is my favorite!!! I usually come in late nights for my bite. The only time I ever visited in the afternoon, I was in the area. The MOST DRIEST BAR TENDER WAS HERE!!!!!!!! I mean, I don’t sit at the bar as the locals do. And I don’tneed you to caress my hair while I think of anything to order but sheesh. If he had been the same with everyone I would not have a word to say. I want a cocktail suggestion and he was sooooooo busy with 4 other customers. Mostly chatting them up but could not off any suggestion for a drink but stayed at I guess the locals he knew table. There was more but my gumbo just came lol. Yes I write this as I’m back after the incident because I truly like the place. If I ever see him I will just leave no biggie. It’s just when I came today the bartender was so welcoming, it forced me to recall...
