For context, my friends and I booked a reservation 8PM for Wednesday Bite Club for a table of 4. We were excited since it is trending on social media, so I had made reservations for my birthday right before it sold out. TK is a beautifully decorated establishment, but the music was lively but also extremely loud. Building was packed, and every seat was full! We arrived on time and seated around 10 minutes late — No biggie. Got told that we had a time limit of 90 minutes, but since we were seated late, they would give us some grace. No worries, since the 3-course meal was free as long as you paid for two drinks. Got seated at 8:10pm and our server got our drink order in by 8:15pm. My girls and I were vibing, the owner TK came out and gave us all free show vouchers.
8:45pm rolls around and we still had not received our food nor drinks. We hadn’t been checked on by our server. We were also screaming over the music to even be able to talk to each other even though we were seated next to/across from each other. TK checked on us again since we had nothing on our table, and got on our server for not being on top of the service. After that, we had our first round out: a small plate that was “Roasted Fig Mostarda, Paula’s Goat Cheese, Prosciutto (Cracker), and Tarragon Oil.” It looked more like a huge dollop of fig jam, cheese, and Tarragon oil with a slice of plain fig. The prosciutto was air-dried and resembled beef jerky, but the ratio of the prosciutto to dippings was a little… interesting since it was a singular piece of prosciutto to giant portions of the other dippings. We figured since this was only round 1, maybe the next round would be more like an entree size.
9:00pm rolls around and we still had not received our drinks yet and no sign of our next round. A couple other tables around us are also receiving the same treatment and are looking around anxiously, hangrily. the table next to us cave and order something off the main menu — those items come out quickly (within 10 minutes of them ordering), so we’re confused. If Bite Club is so popular (they’re going into week 2 or 3 of this promotion), why didn’t they prepare more dishes ahead of time to prepare? Are they doing this on purpose so we can order something off the main menu and they can make more profit? Why are there not enough servers? Why are they not adequately trained to take care of the tables they are given?
9:15pm — At this point, we start making plans to dip. We’d been there for nearly an hour, and even if we did get the next two rounds for free and both rounds of drinks, it’s not enough time to actually eat and enjoy our food. TK stops by our table again, and we tell him the situation of receiving only one round and no drinks. He says that the round of drinks and the first dish will be comped — on him as an apology. Explains that they were understaffed and if we come around next week they’ll have more staff to service us. We stick around a little longer to see if maybe the drinks will come out. They don’t, and neither our server nor TK check up on us, so we ended up just leaving around 9:20. An hour and 10 minutes with a single snack-size plate and no drinks.
At the end of the night, we didn’t spend anything, but we missed on an opportunity to have a great experience. At this point, my girls and I don’t want a free meal or free drinks — we just want an explanation. Is this normally how it is, or is it just a bad night? Was our server bad, or is this a strategy to get people to buy the more expensive items off the main menu? What can be done differently to avoid this in the future? Overall, the experience did not meet our expectations, and we were severely...
Read moreWe went here for our anniversary the other night and bought two tickets for dinner and show which is supposed to include a three course meal and a ticket to the comedy show. The total said it would be $240 and that included gratuity that was automatically added. Somehow we were tipped off big time. We ordered three drinks total on top of that which cost extra but two were $22 and one was $17. We were then charged $434 on our card later which doesn’t make sense. Even with the three drinks and gratuity it still would be not where near that. Dinner and a show is a scam so I don’t recommend buying that package. Our appetizers we liked but the main course was just okay. Steak was undercooked and I like mine pretty rare and the bernaise crab sauce was overly salty. The potato croquette was good. My husband said he loved his mussels but didn’t think the main entree was that good. We both tried my chocolate lava cake and there was no lava whatsoever, I dug out the entire middle looking for it and the cake itself barely had any sweetness which is the point of having chocolate lava in the middle. It was like eating a sponge between the texture and how bland it was, my husband commented it was terrible. The frozen lava cakes at Kroger blow theirs out of the water which is crazy since this is supposed to be an upscale restaurant. Barely any customers were there, the ambiance and decor were nice and both owners plus the chef and another manager came up to check on us, the staff all seemed nice. Drinks were so strong I could only have one and was so tired after that one we didn’t even stay for the comedy show. Very few customers there for a Friday night, seems like a place old singles go to the bar to mingle. One of the owners (TK himself) was hammered by 5:30pm when he spoke to us and almost fell over backwards walking around the table. The food was over priced and I feel like they took advantage and over charged us because I still don’t understand how the bill came out to be that much, it seems a bit shady that you can’t pay cash and they randomly charge your card so they can charge more. Business didn’t seem great and I’m guessing that’s why they have to pull a fast one on people to afford to stay in business. My husband even commented he wasn’t sure how they stayed in business considering there were more employees than customers there the whole time. We definitely...
Read moreI had high hopes for my Valentine’s Day dinner at TK’s Comedy Club, but unfortunately, my experience was far from enjoyable. I had an 8:00 PM reservation, but due to constant delays and miscommunication, I didn’t receive my meal until nearly midnight.
From the start, there was a lack of organization and transparency. We waited 30 minutes past our reservation time just to be seated. While waiting at the bar, my party was repeatedly overlooked by staff, while other patrons who arrived after us were served promptly. After speaking up, we were told the bartender was new and received a complimentary drink, which was appreciated but didn’t excuse the poor service.
Once seated, instead of being placed where we were originally promised, we were asked to sit in the speakeasy section. We agreed, only to sit for another 30 minutes without even being offered a drink menu. I had to repeatedly remind the staff about our reservation, yet even after multiple conversations—including with a manager named Justin, who struggled to remember my name despite being told four times—we continued to be ignored.
By 9:30 PM, we still had not received any food, but we were finally seated for the comedy show. The entire show went by without so much as a drink being served to us. It wasn’t until after the show ended that TK himself intervened, and we finally got our food—nearly four hours after our reservation.
I understand that staff shortages and unexpected issues happen, but a little communication would have gone a long way. Instead, we were kept in the dark, given empty assurances, and left feeling neglected and frustrated. For an experience that was supposed to include a four-course dinner and a show, it felt more like we were an afterthought.
I genuinely wanted to enjoy the evening, but the lack of professionalism, poor service, and complete disregard for guests made it impossible. I wouldn’t recommend this place for a special occasion unless major improvements are made in service and communication. Food was good and I might give...
