I’ve gone here many times always great. I usually sit down to eat. This time I popped in for take out as I was walking my service dog and apparently I didn’t eat or drink enough before the walk started. I was very weak and hungry, and figured I would get some amazing food at a familiar place.
I check the sign- fridays special is 6.49 on the front sign by the door. I go in and say I need take out and I want the special.
The kid at the front desk tells me there will be a “slight upcharge” but doesn’t say why. Apparently now the special is 9.49 , an insane upcharge for whatever reason.
I ask what lunch I can get for 7-8 bucks . Dude shows me a menu of tiny little side items only, no meal.
Ok, whatever. I pay the full 9.49 for the no. 7 dinner, thinking hey this is a little bit expensive for standard Mexican food but atleast it’ll be good and I’ll be full, right?
I grab the bag and leave . I walk a bit and sit down with my dog to eat.
I open the bag to find a bag of chips, no salsa . Ok….? Nice bro. Whatever, let’s get to the main course.
I pop open the container to find 2 of the tiniest , skimpiest enchiladas I’ve ever had in my life. No cheese on them either, just like MAYBE 2oz of shredded chicken between both of them.
There’s rice…but no beans. A almost 10$ dinner doesn’t include refried beans with rice?
Idk why I got so swindled this time, usually when I sit down here I pay less and get 2x as much food. I have no idea what weird games they are playing with the prices when I ate today. And after paying a full price , about 10$ , I get two MEASELY enchiladas and a mediocre amount of rice.
The entire cost to make that was prob less than 1-2$ …. Wow. I was mad after I ate it all with my dog within 3 minutes. All o could think about was- wow . Could have went to Burger King and got 2 medium sized jr whopper meals for less than this, and it would have came with sides and drinks. I could’ve got a pizza. I could have went to Steak ‘n Shake and got a whole meal plus a milkshake .
Pretty much any other option would have filled my stomach more. Thought this place was legit and fair , turns out they are finessing people to make absurd profit margins just like every other business these days.
Never going back, thanks. I should have took a pic but I ate the food so fast cuz I was starving- but trust me, it was a solid 3/10 rating overall.
It’s usually fine, this time it was not, with no explanation. Maybe they upcharge 33% for ordering take out instead of dining in and wasting all your money on alcohol which is prob what they hope for.
So many other Mexican places I could’ve went to that would have filled my stomach for...
Read moreThe Beverage menu was a bit disappointing that did not have a bottle of water of any sort.
The loud music was very disturbing and I believe that the restaurant should consider to lower the tone of the music and possibly to replace it with the lower tune of instrumental classical tunes instead.
I ordered a burrito supposedly should come with lots of vegetables just as indicated in the menu was very disappointing. The burrito was sauté onions and peppers fajita wrapped in tortillas and glazed with queso cheese from the outer part, and served with the sour cream on the side.
As I began to order the food I was wondering to replace the meat part with the guacamole instead, and the male server pulled the lady server to my table and started asking her a question in Spanish language (Espagñol) about my request, the lady server immediately began to replied back in Spanish language (Espagñol) and stopped, and continued in English language looking towards me loudly above the tune of the music: ''no, because you know avocados are expensive and we charge additionally'' and I wished the server would tell me that I would have to consider it. Overall, the taste was not disappointing but I do believe that the restaurant need to work in the menu detail descriptions of the items per say, ingredients list that are included in the dish, plates also could have been a bit more pure of...
Read moreI have no idea what happened this time around because I have come here once before and it was fantastic, but I ordered the Burrito Azteca and a Chicken Burrito Agavero and they were awful. There was almost no meat inside both of them, only 1 piece of shrimp in the Azteca, and both of them were nearly all peppers. Every bite was peppers and more peppers. I didn't order a fajita. I ordered a burrito. On top of this I ordered a side of fries and they were disgusting. They tasted as if they were frozen, absolutely plain with no flavor at all, I got them luke warm at best, and the plate had barely any of them on it. If I'm paying 3.49$ for fries I want more than a McDonald's small fry would offer me. I wish I could have gotten my money back. It was a waste. I understand my review is harsh but if consistent service isn't given I can't rate a place high.
The place was okay cleanliness wise, but I had a fly hovering around my food the entire time I ate so that ruined the experience for me.
As for service it was decent and the female serving us was kind. She even gave us extra cherries in our Shirley Temples which was kind. However it did take a long time to leave the place. We asked for to-go-boxes and it took 10 minutes or more...
