I'm not someone who gives many bad reviews, but this one is well deserved. To start, we were excited for their margaritas since they have many nice sounding flavors. However, they were very fruit juice forward, without a trace of tequila to be tasted. Not to mention that they are served in rocks glasses, jammed with ice, to ensure you are only served about 4 ounces of beverage for your $12-15 each. Let's talk food... Our meals were brought out in less than 4 minutes. Like everything was just in warming bins in the back. I'm accustomed to Mexican food being fast, but this was faster than going to Chipotle. The difference between them, is that Chipotle is fresh, delicious, and affordable. My brother and I ordered carne asada burritos, and both agreed that they were bland, other than the nasty taste of what seemed to be microwaved steak. My wife got the Taco Supreme (3 hardshell tacos with chorizo). She stated that she's had far better at Taco Bell (ouch). My mom had the Pollo Carbon and thought it was just too bland. She was more upset about the fact that she chose the place. Our server lacked any professionalism and even moreover had zero friendliness about her. Not once did we give the idea of how bad everything was, so it's not like she was dealing with upset customers. A manger had stopped by and asked how everything was. My family doesn't like the idea of complaining at a restaurant and possibly making a scene, so we stayed quiet. I did let out a small "eh," in which he pushed more about what was wrong. It made me feel like I was put on the spot, so I just told the dude, "I don't have anything to talk to you about." What is he gonna do?? Bring me a free crappy margarita?? Oh, but on a positive note: They had really good salsa (that they never refilled)... None of us will give them another shot. In a city filled with affordable, authentic, and amazing tasting Mexican food, there's no need to go to an overpriced, uncomfortable spot that serves wack 4 oz. margaritas for the price of a jumbo pitcher elsewhere. I would suggest El Rincon, Azteca, or Casa Del Mar. Friendlier staff, fresher tasting food, large margaritas with alcohol in them, and your table bill will...
Read moreI have had the displeasure of dining here twice and will not be returning. The service is abhorrent, with almost too many mishaps to take the time to write. However, most egregious was the fact that after being there an hour we were never given napkins/silverware (or water, might I add). Our food was delivered and I requested napkins/silverware from the server who proceeded to go to another large table and take orders for 10+ minutes rather than immediately ensuring we had the means to eat the food sitting on the table. I eventually got up and asked the bartender, who did try to help, but advised they “were out” of both napkins and silverware upstairs. Another 5 minutes, for a total of 15+ that our food sat getting cold in front of us, before silverware came. Not to mention I had fajitas which all this time they noted my rice, beans, and tortillas “were coming right up” but in actuality I had to remind them and it took about 20 minutes in total to be delivered. At that point I ate my lukewarm mediocre meal more out of desperation but another in my party had to send theirs back because it was so burnt (beef tacos) it was inedible. At the end of the night it was insult added to injury when the server added an auto gratuity for “large parties” to our checks… there were 5 of us. FIVE!? I guess she new she had been so terrible she was concerned we’d stiff her and this was her insurance? Truly confused where these 4-5 star reviews are coming from, because it was both the terrible service on either visit and the completely unmemorable food that will prevent me from ever giving this place another...
