UPDATE: Restaurant owner Rick contacted me within 24 hours to resolve the issues described in my earlier review. He was courteous, professional, personable, and apologetic in his approach and provided terrific customer service. He assured me that the matter had been addressed with the location manager. I was offered 2 free meals to rectify the situation & also to encourage me to give the restaurant another chance. I know you can't control others' behavior but if all staff at this Arby's followed his lead it would be a tremendous place to visit. Unfortunately, when I went to "give it another shot" the same manager was working and was just as argumentative and difficult as the previous visit, but this time in the drive thru. In addition, the shake machine hadn't been turned on yet and it was almost noon. I am increasing my rating to 4 stars based on the fact that the food has been mostly consistent, all other staff at this location have provided good service, and my complaint was handled with consideration and kindness; Rick really did try to make things right. It seems you can set a great example and hold standards but you can't make an old nag drink if she just doesn't want to. I sincerely hope this establishment doesn't suffer too much because of the horse's @$$ working there. I will continue to be a patron, thanks only to the awesome manner and speed with which my concern was addressed, but i think I'll stick to my guns about calling first to avoid certain unpleasantness at all costs.
ORIGINAL REVIEW DATED 05/01/20: I have been to this Arby's a handful of times now; I was always pleased with their food and service until my most recent visit. My sweetheart and I walked in to the restaurant together but since we were paying separately with our own cards we stood apart to order separately as well. We had both selected coupons from the most recent flyer for the meal/entree we wanted. The manager Jennifer was working the counter as my boyfriend ordered and paid first; when she asked him a question about the order in a very unclear fashion his brief confusion was met with her raising her voice gruffly and repeating herself in an incredibly insulting and condescending way. When I approached the counter to order next, she pointed his way and asked abruptly "aren't you with him?!" Puzzled, I replied yes, and she said that we couldn't do that, as a couple.... we're not both allowed to use coupons for our orders. I replied that we are ordering separately and paying separately; therefore we are two separate customers. She glared and stated that she would not let us "do that again". During our meal prep I observed as she swore at her staff and equipment, even audibly dropping the f-bomb, and loudly criticized the patrons utilizing the drive-through window. The final straw fell when I witnessed her handle cash, then wipe an ample amount of sweat from her brow with an open palm, then immediately use the same hand to pull the fry basket out of the deep fryer. With ZERO glove use or handwashing or sanitation between any of these actions, during a pandemic spread by body fluids, nonetheless. My love of Arby's gyros will likely bring me back, but I will far more likely call first to make sure she is nowhere on site...
Read moreSo I dislike coming to this restaurant for one big reason. The customer service always sucks. However I work for a group service program that takes individuals with intellectual disabilities into the community and often Arby’s comes up as a choice they make. The manager in particular, you will know her when you hear her, is very rude and unprofessional. She’s been there for awhile and is always yelling at employees, acts very annoyed everytime you try to interact with her and ask questions, and won’t own up to her mistakes. My final tipping point was our last visit with our individuals. One of my staff asked them for a fork for one of our individuals who had to use a fork, and she rolled her eyes and acted like it was a problem. Then came my situation. I saw 2 people before me order salads, I saw her with a head of lettuce in her hand in the back right after. I went up to place my order and asked for a salad with chicken and was refused. The guy said we are not serving anymore salads cause we are too busy and our prep guy didn’t come in. Again she had a head of lettuce in her hand. Whatever though, I’m working with individuals so I didn’t want to argue. I asked for Buffalo chicken strips, which took awhile to get. Mind you I got them and they were fresh and hot, so hot I couldn’t touch them at first and they were covered with too much sauce. So I went and asked for a fork and manager got snappy and said “What didn’t I already put a fork in their? I never forget forks, I always put them in.” Rolling her eyes she got me a fork. I also asked for ranch and she said it’s already in the bag. I actually wanted a second one cause I knew one wasn’t going to be enough but again I didn’t want to be confrontational like her. Another complaint is how impatient she is. My individuals take time to do stuff, meanwhile she’s screaming out their orders, and not giving any of them a chance to get up to counter before she keeps screaming out the number and getting impatient. Customer service here is...
Read moreManager Patricia at Alamogordos Arby's needs to attend customer service and also Arby's 3rd party coupon school, we have 4 lines with T-Mobile we receive a T-Mobile Tuesdays with each line, apparently this manager does not believe Arby's should accept these coupons which are paid for through our phone bill which is through my husband's Air Force affiliation (20 yrs and he's still working at HAFB at 65yrs mind you) TWICE she has been rude this 2nd time she informed me that this was the last time I could use a coupon from Arby's deal with T-Mobile it's just 1 coupon you have to print out each time with a different code. Should I apologize because we have 4 lines, no I don't believe I should but my family will not be frequenting Arby's Alamogordo anymore. I must apologize to the public though, I wrote this review under my hubby's name. My name is Isabel Austin and considering our country's state now you'd think Arby's would want customers but until they do something about the management at this location we pass in any more visits I could go on about what a coupon actually costs because believe me it...
