Xalos Burrito Express Midtown — Restaurant in Alaska

Okay so this is a unique review but well deserved-- I ordered lunch through GrubHub from here.

My first order was picked up and delivered to the wrong hotel. GrubHub did nothing to remedy thism

My second order was picked up by the wrong driver and GrubHub this time just canceled the order--but then they made a note that the restaurant didn't want to fulfill the order.

The restaurant called me, a lovely woman named, "Lu". She apologized profusely for any confusion. She explained what happened from her end and said GrubHub canceled the order. She wanted to make sure I had received some food at this point over an hour after the original order. I hadn't, but was working on it through another route. The fact that this sweet woman went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of in some way was mind blowing. You can't find customer service like this anymore.

I highly recommend this restaurant for the service they provide alone. The moral of the story is don't trust grubhub to make things right... They don't care. But trust Lu and the team at Xalos Midtown to treat you right. They will.

For Anchorage I choose Xalos for a burrito or taco lunch. I have been to the main one in Mountain View a couple times but now I work in midtown, so I had to take advantage of Express. Had queso birria tacos for a change from my usual burrito. Yes this is also good! In my opinion, this place is better than taco king if given the option no doubt. Try this place you will agree! I will also say this…if you feel like Mexican food in anchorage you should go here. The sit down restaurants are pretty much no good all over. Having been in the lower 48 for years and south of the border I know what good Mexican food is. Xalos is best you will find in Anchorage. Which is only reason why I say 4 stars. I had a bad experience with this restaurant. My order got messed up a couple times so I went in and spoke with the manager Luz because I really do love their food and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and what she did, all businesses should take note from in Alaska. Customer service is nonexistent in a lot of places in this state, but she proceeded to not only give me a free meal, but offer me drinks, dessert, salad and anything else that I wanted. I was not looking for a free meal. I was just looking to have my voice heard, but what she did turned it into the reason that I will be back again and again. Great...
