Horrible, very disappointed. If had a choice I would not give this experience any stars My wife and were hungry and hadn't eaten all day. We ordered a wide variety of food for takeout. Beef and chicken tacos, chicken queso enchiladas, chile rellenos, posole, fideo, along with tortillas and sopapillas. Everything was wrong from the food taste, the food temperature, and the food texture. Chicken on enchiladas and tacos was barley warm, dry, and lacked the flavor I expect from New Mexican cuisine. Beef taco tasted better, but COLD as if it had been prepared the day before and not warmed before put into taco shell. Chile relleno and queso enchiladas had the cheese burnt into the styrofoam containers. It looks like the food was prepared much earlier and then heated up in the microwave in the styrofoam container. I can't think of any other reason why the cheese would be melted into the styrofoam and still be cold. The posole was warm but lacked flavor. The potatoes and sopapillas were cold also. The fideo was decent, it's only thing that we ate. We were told the food would be ready in 15 to 20 minutes. We were staying right across the street at a hotel and were there in 15 minutes. There's no reason that food prepared that recently should be cold. We spent over 50.00 on our order plus. 10.00 tip... We were thoroughly disappointed and will...
Read moreFinally got my opportunity to try this place out the other day when in the area at lunchtime. Restaurants that waste little time seating you and getting good food to the table are always a keeper in my book. This certainly is the case as it pertains to Richard's Mexican Restaurant on Menaul. When I walked in, I was graciously greeted by the cashier and guided to a table by my server. Chips and salsa were complimentary and as they usually do, made for a stratifying appetizer. For lunch, I decided to try the intriguingly titled "low carb meal". Which came served with my choice of beef or chicken and a flour tortilla. Despite possessing a marginally ambiguous name. The low carb meal is essentially beef (or chicken) mixed in with scrambled eggs and topped with shredded cheese. Chopped lettuce, tomatoes, and guacamole are also included on the platter and complements the heartiness of the protein jumble that sits below it. Although I felt that the portion size could have been a bit larger, Richard's nonetheless delivered. The food was good, and the service was more than satisfactory. I'm definitely eager to try out more menu items in the near future. Just be forewarned before you plan of visiting, that Richard's is only...
Read moreHEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE. I have plenty of friends and family that say the food here is good and I am in complete disagreement. I’ve been here twice, the first time my waitress was very clearly inebriated and barely functional, she messed up my entire meal and experience so much that the restaurant actually gave me my whole meal free. So I gave it another shot thinking they were at the least compensating for my poor experience. I work near by and went again yesterday when I bit into a ROCK the size of a quarter from my Huevos Rancheros. I told the man who I assume is the manager in disbelief and beyond concerned already and he then told me I PUT IT THERE. He refused to be sympathetic or at all remorseful and continued to insist I put the rock in my own food. Just as I was asking how rocks (especially that large) get in food anyhow and if it had been on the floor a waitress approached and informed me theyre found in their beans pretty frequently and they try their best to remove them. The man then said he was going to say that, mind you after insisting I did it myself for 10 minutes. I will never ever return here and am disgusted with the lack of respect and one after another awful...
