If I could give this Albuquerque location "ZERO" Stars I would. Hands down the worst customer service and meal experience that I've EVER had with Ruth's Chris, and we've been going there for DECADES. I also remember how consistently good this restaurant USED to be, no matter what city you visited. I originally placed an order 12-24-2023, Christmas Eve, online directly through the Ruth's Chris website for pickup. When I arrived at the restaurant, I was greeted by an extremely rude hostess that was at the front, with the nastiest attitude I've EVER experienced from a Ruth's Chris associate. I told her that I was there to pick up my Take Out order that I had made online with the Ruth's Chris website. With a condescending and snotty attitude, she proceeded to say, "This is Ruth's Chris, we don't 'do' takeout." I looked at this extremely rude individual and calmly said, "I KNOW this is Ruth's Chris, I placed the order directly on your website," and showed her. After verbally verifying the location with her, I showed her the order, and she said nothing. Another employee who was nearby heard what was transpiring and kindly said, "let me get a manager to help you, due to it being Christmas Eve, I'm not sure how our takeout orders are working today." Or something to that effect. A manager came over and I showed them the order that I made online with them. He was very nice, but seemed to have a problem finding the order with my name even though it was clearly seen by me as I looked at his tablet. He finally "found" the order, apologized for the inconvenience, and said that they would prepare my order for me. I proceeded to wait almost 40 minutes for the worst steak sandwich and wedge salad that I've ever had, while I listened to the hostess behind the front reception area make disparaging remarks regarding customer's due to arrive and other childish commentary. Normally I dine-in, but decided to try take-out since I wanted a relatively lighter meal, so decided try the steak sandwich. Terrible mistake. The "filet" was not trimmed properly, tasted "off", and the wedge salad was abysmal. I ate a few bites of my food, and literally threw it in the trash because I began feeling nauseous after I started eating. The manager was actually very kind, and the young lady with dark hair who initially fetched the manager for me was also kind. It was only the hostess/front desk person that had absolutely no manners or social skills. The manager presented me with a $50 guest gift card to be used for my next dining experience with this restaurant for the "inconvenience." Unfortunately, I will not be using it, and prefer a refund. If the service and food quality that I experienced was indicative of ANY future experience to be had at this location, no thank you. And to the EXTREMELY rude young hostess that was standing at the front who said, "This is Ruth's Chris, we don't 'do' take out'," lose the distasteful, snotty, condescending attitude, gain a bit of HUMILITY, and learn BASIC customer service and social skills at the bare minimum if you're going to work within a customer service focused industry. Your horrible behavior was just as distasteful as the ill prepared food. Also, it's not a good look for you to speak negatively about the customers when you're standing behind the front desk or in your little room off to the side. We don't need to hear someone at the front, an EMPLOYEE, miserably complaining about the groups of people, patrons, CUSTOMERS, that are arriving before they arrive. The patrons that you are complaining about, are the ones that allow you to have employment at this or any location. Remember that fact. To the General Manager of this establishment, and to corporate, this person would be better suited working at a place with no customer contact. Ruth's Chris lost a...
Read moreMy family and I attended Ruth Chris on thanksgiving. We’d attended on a few other special occasions and received wonderful service but that was not the case this evening. First I ordered my steak rare it came out well done. I asked kindly if they could take it back. The manager on shift came over and said we’ll take care of that (she did not clarify my order so I assumed she’d check the ticket as I’m lactose intolerant and requested no dairy). My family sat and waited while they remade my steak and by the time my food came out their food was cold. Upon eating my steak it tasted like there was butter and I didn’t want to be that guest complaining on thanksgiving (she was a manager for sure she checked the ticket since she didn’t even ask how I wanted it originally) and I didn’t want to wait any longer for yet another steak so I was leaning on faith that she did her job right. Well I spent most the remaining portion of the evening in their restroom as the steak definitely had butter. I was so uncomfortable and disappointed. My family and I spent well over 700+ that night for four of us and the service did not reflect the bill. Upon us leaving they said they threw in a few extra desserts (remember I’m the guest they messed up the order and I’m lactose intolerant. I couldn’t eat any of them just further showed they weren’t taking the time to respect the clients needs). My boyfriend pulled the manager over- seeing as he works in the hospitality industry he wanted to share the feedback from our experience. The manager gave him the “shut up talk”. Which basically said we’ve been open since 10 or 11 it’s been a long day. Are you serious so if I come to this restaurant again on a holiday I shouldn’t come late because then I should expect the service to be bad. She also admitted she never checked my ticket - rookie move I wouldn’t expect from a manager. Not once did she apologize aside from giving us excuses and she did not offer to comp my steak they they messed up on-not once but twice. We will not be back to say the least and when I think of how expensive that restaurant is 20+ for a margarita and the fact they can’t even make a steak right (it is a steakhouse right?) I’m just like what’s the point. I am taken care of better at Texas Roadhouse and my money goes a lot longer way and the staff can admit when they make a mistake and are quick to make it right -not give excuses and still charge me. I would have expected a bit more compassion especially seeing as it was Thanksgiving. We’ve crossed paths with that manager before and it shocks me how she even got her job. The wait staff is a million times...
Read moreWe had a gift card from last year we didn't get to utilize and now that the restaurant is open we decided to check it out. First of all this restaurant is very wheelchair accessible. It is 2 floors and there is an elevator. Bathroom is also wheelchair accessible, it has lots of space. Walking in we loved the ambience, tables we decorated beautifully with battery operate candles setting off a lovely glimmer. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I will also add attentive because we did not have a chance to need or want for anything as they checked on us frequently. I would suggest making a reservation. I am unsure if it is required however we made one day before and seemed like tables were going fast. Our waitress Maura asked if we dined there before to which we reported we had not. She proceeded to go over the menu extensively also making recommendations. We decided on the tenderloin and tails for two which is a 3 course meal that consisted of a either a steak house salad, Cesar salad or lobster bisque. We ordered the Cesar and the bisque. Of course we shared because we wanted to taste everything. Cesar salad was great and the Lobster Bisque was very good also, it had small chunks of Lobster throughout and it wasn't skimpy. I also want to add the so bring you bread and butter to snack before your meal. Meal also came with a 22 oz. Chateaubriand steak w/ a Cogniac sauce you can drizzle over the top...OMG it was amazing. We ordered medium rare and it was cooked to PERFECTION! It was accompanied with 2 Lobster tails, creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. Everything we ate tasted AMAZING! We were so stuffed we could not finish our meal, but we still had dessert coming. Our waitress asked of we wanted to eat it there or to go and I said put it in a to go box but we will probably taste it. She did just that and we did taste it and kept tasting it until it was almost gone..lol. It was sooooo good.Best I can describe is brownie like consistency with a chocolate ganosh layer on top. I'd go back just to order that. 😁. This meal was around $245.00 with tax/tip however it was well worth it. They do have cheaper meals on the menu, we just decided to splurge. Their drinks are great as well.. we ordered a lemon drop and it was yummy.. What made it an awesome experience also was the wait staff. They were amazing and down to earth. We appreciate you and all your hard work. We will definitely be going back. We hear the Lobster Mac & cheese is amazing and that's next on our list. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
