On Friday, February 23, 2018, I drove to Socorro from Santa Fe to bring my son back home from college (NM Tech) for the weekend. With all the major road construction, the traffic was terrible and it was hard to get to a restaurant so that we could have dinner before heading home. It was about 4:30 pm and I told my son the Stoneface Tavern would likely be the most accessible place to have dinner where we could still be able get back onto I-25 from Alameda easily without all the traffic. So we entered the restaurant and sat at a table. When the waitress arrived, she asked my son what he wanted to drink, and he told her "just a glass of water". Then she asked him for his I.D. and he told her he was 19, but reiterated that he just wanted water. Then she asked me what I wanted to drink and I told her I would like a draft beer, and I then took out my driver's license to prove my age and she said she didn't need it. Then she walked away and came back about 3-5 minutes later and told me she spoke with the manager and said he told her that they don't serve minors "anything" after 4:00 pm. I asked her "Are you serious? We just came to have dinner!" She said she was sorry but "That's the policy of the manager". I told her this didn't seem right because Stoneface is no different than Chili's or Applebee's which serves dinner too, but is also a bar. We were then shamefully asked to leave, so we did, and I'll never go back. I am a Santa Fe born Hispanic with a college degree in Business Management from UNM and have seen a little discrimination in my time, but none like this. It's OK though, because I will never go to that S**t Hole again. Although the rating system is on a 1 to 5 star basis, I still give it a...
Read moreStoneface Tavern is probably one of my favorite places to go for live music, great food, a pleasant environment and to shoot pool. On this recent visit I was not able to shoot pool or heat live music due to covid restrictions, however the rest of my visit was outstanding.
My friends and I went for a Cowboy game (even though I'm a Bronco fan). On this occasion my waitress was Latoya. She was extremely pleasant, patient and quite frankly... A joy to be served by. She wore her mask the entire time.
The food at this establishment is on the tasty sign. There's literally nothing that you can order that you will not enjoy. A favorite has been the nachos. Whether you are getting beef or chicken, or steak, be sure you have assistance and eating the mountain of food.
I have had the salmon, fried zucchini, green chili cheese fries, and burgers. Any selection off of the menu may become a favorite of yours as well.
The serving sizes of the food items is what brings you back. This is a great location to visit with your friends, watch the game, or if you're feeling so bold as to go solo - - - do your thing!
Already got plans but need some spirits your libations - - - Stoneface has you covered with liquor available for purchase near one of the entrances.
Due to the ambiance, layout, price and taste of the food I am giving this location the highest rating.

Read moreAttention Management: We have been going to Stone Face for 25 years and have never encountered really bad service, slow service, but not horrible. Well, we went on Friday June 21, 2024, and I believe it will be our last time going. We sat at the bar top, and the Bartender Marie came by asking what we wanted. My Husband ordered an IPA, and I asked about what kind of Red Wine does she have? She replied Cabernet & Noir. I asked her what brand the Pinot Noir was, and she could not tell me. She then asked if I wanted a drink menu, and I received one. OK, no big deal so far, I ordered my wine and received it. So, then the service got really bad and uncalled for. We wanted another round; Marie was standing by the cash register, and we were not far away from her. We motioned to her that we would like another, she clearly saw this as she looked right at us, she drank her water and turned and walked away. Really? Never have I had a Bartender do this as it was clear she was not happy in her job at all, but do not take it out on the customer. We had to flag down the other Bartender or Bar Back not sure what her position was in order to cash out as we certainly were not getting anywhere with Marie. Needless to say, Marie Did Not Get a Tip and I have never done that, but she obviously did not deserve one and having employees like her Stone Face your...
