Uptown Sports Bar — Restaurant in Albuquerque

Service is awful! 5 times out of 7 visits, the waitresses are awful. The 7th time the waitress was good but there was an issue with the food. The waitresses don't really pay attention unless you are in a big group or are paying your tab! Feb 2023 We had one waitress bring over the tab for $30 something but she didn't ask if we were done and she stood over us until we paid right there and then. Also, they get your order wrong. For better service I recommend sitting at the bar.... March 2023 Our last visit I tried to order at the bar, after waiting almost 15 minutes for the waitress to come take our order, the bartender said I had to wait for the waitress to take our order and she went and sent the waitress over to our table. Idk Menu Prices went up on drinks and food! Mixed drinks are terrible and watered down liquor. We paid $10 for a small drink listed on the menu, it had tons of sugar and made with only half a shot of liquor. I tried a draft beer and was served the wrong beer but I drank it anyway because I didn't want to wait anymore and was charged $9 for a 22oz during happy hour! I told the waitress when she brought our tab and she said she would talk to the manager to adjust the happy hour price but never did and she ran the our card anyway after waiting for 10 minutes. The waitress left a family waiting with their small kid for a long time also. Food is good but it is priced at fine dining rates! $$$$ The atmosphere is decent with lots of TV's to watch major sporting events and has dart boards and pool tables. This place is usually fun for super bowl or live radio remotes. The picture is from a September visit when our nice server brought my buddy these $8 cheese fries after they discussed it would be like nacho fries! We all thought it was a joke and yes those are 2 cheese...

This past weekend we called to the Uptown Sports Bar and Grill and asked if we would be able to watch the New Mexico State Aggies Basketball game and the guy that answered the phone said we could watch the game in the pool room as long as we were ok that the other TVs next to this one would have the UNM Lobo game and we said no we didn't not have a problem with that cuz we were cheering for the UNM Lobos too! So we called a taxi and went to the Sports Bar and told the waiter that we had called ahead of time and wanted to watch the game and we were also interested in watching the UNM game since they were both playing at the same time. NM had two college teams make it to the playoffs and we were excited and supported them both! The pool room had a few TVs and the bar and restaurant had a few also. Well the waiter told us no they couldn't show the Aggie game... they were only going to put the Lobo game on. So I asked if I could speak to a manager...well the manager did not want to come out and talk to me instead he/she told the waiter to tell me no they couldn't put the Aggie game on!! How unprofessional is that? Any manager that is being asked to talk to should at least come out and talk to their customers. The whole experience there was horrible and we will never go back there. There are plenty of places in Albuquerque to watch sports and they deserve to have our business..not Uptown Sports...

Steelers fans beware. I have been coming here for 15 years and will not be frequenting this location anymore. A traditional steelers bar, it is obvious the new manager is trying to run out the steelers fans. The last Sunday I was there, the steelers game was on a very limited number of TV's with preference given to other teams. I originally asked for the breakfast burrito that they usually serve for brunch on Sundays, only to be told it's not available anymore. So no more brunch menu. I ordered the fish and chips which came with a very skimpy portion and was not that great for the price. When paying I tried to use the New Mexico restaurant card and was told they do not take those anymore however, uptown is still listed on the card as an honoring location. On a positive note, a couple of the bartenders and waitresses were pleasant enough but the remainder of the staff including management was rude. You might account this to being a steelers fan but I was not wearing any steelers paraphernalia that day. Overall the place seems to be going downhill fast and I have heard similar grumblings from old management, staff and customers. Hopefully the owner eventually sees what is happening to his restaurant and...
