I called the manager Michael over and showed him the stopwatch on my phone. I shouldn't have had to even do that~!!!!!!!!!!! The last beer was 7 and a half minutes. His only excuse was that bartender Ashley was busy serving tables and that was a lie because the place was practically empty and deserving so because the quality of the service the Alexandria Applebees is giving sucks. Look at all the negative reviews on their web page on Facebook plus I just added another...that's where I got the email address of the CSR who was USELESS and sounds like a broken record....she did NOTHING for me.....great she apologized but here's a novel idea stop apologizing and FIX the problems! How long has that Applebees been in business in Alexandria yet it takes 7 and half minutes to get a beer? I mean really? Please...........Obviously people complain and many have complained...but they do NOTHING to fix the problems but apologize... I don't want their apology....none of their guests really do don't they get it by now? Guests want each and every Applebees to deliver quality timely service.........if they cant give that then they should quit their job and go to work somewhere else and give their jobs to someone who can...I mean really...I care more than they do and I don't work for Applebees...I'm a guest...do they want me to fix this problem??
Ok I will fire the USELESS manager and hire someone who cares about giving quality timely service to customers and then give each and every person that sits at that bar free salsa and chips!!! I mean really....most other Applebees do....I have been to over 100 Applebees......you want to know why giving free salsa and chips pays off? Because it makes people drink more....you give up $2.99 and they give up $4.25 each beer they have.....do the math and if they cant do math and see 100% profit in that equation, they should quit and give their job to someone who can!!! service....I have been to packed Applebees in smaller towns at the same That Applebees was practically empty because of poor quality slow time because they give good speedy service...if they don't want guests in their Applebees then they should just keep doing what they do best............. .....NOTHING..............they are good at...
Read moreI don't normally frequent Applebee's because the franchise is sometimes inconsistent with their level of service, especially in small towns. But I decided to stop in this time because it was easy to turn into and close to the airport. I travel a lot for work so convenience is key for me.
Usually you walk into an Applebee's and you get the feeling that it is more bar than restaurant. It's dark (not a romantic dark), it's quiet (not a good quiet), and you get the impression that people are there to drink their problems away with the occasional family having a dinner with their kids.
However, this Applebee's is an exception. I walked in and immediately sensed a more family-oriented establishment. It was well lit and full of patrons who were there for an early dinner. Some couples, some co-workers, a few families, and a couple of large parties. I sat down in the self seating area. I waited a few minutes longer than expected but it was worth it.
I was greeted by a friendly fellow named John. He's the bartender but also handles that part of the restaurant. He quickly took my drink and food order and checked in on me from time to time. The best part is that he remembered me from another restaurant nearby that I visited where he also works. I visited that other restaurant one time about 3 months ago and he remembered me! It took me a minute but I finally remembered him too. John is consistently customer oriented and just overall pleasant. I believe that his approach to customer service is why it took him a couple of minutes extra to get to me at the beginning. He was ensuring his relationship-building with other patrons which is not something that can be done in a hurry. The food was good. I ordered the Asian chicken salad with...
