Terrible experience all round, I would not recommend. I have been going here off and on for almost ten years and never had an experience like this. I arrived at 11, just as they opened for the day. After quickly reviewing the menu for what I want, I order 2 slices of pepperoni pizza for $6 each according to the menu. When I go to pay the bill with my card, it seems rather high for 2 slices and a soda at $20. I pay and get the receipt noticing the 2 slices came to $15.52, $7.76 per slice (weird price btw). When I enquire, I was told that the video menu board is wrong and the correct price is in the computer. Further, someone is coming soon to update the board. I’m in no mood to argue other than to say that it’s a bit slimey, getting nothing in return other than a curt head nod as he walks away. To make matters worse, I then notice a special for $8.99 on a side chalk board (who knows if this price is correct or not) for a slice, salad and soda. Had I known that, I would have opted for that. You’d think that is enough, but it gets much worse, cuz the food wasn’t good and the food is everything, right? After a few mins, the 2 slices come out. Clearly this was from last nite. You can see in the pic that he did a lame job of trying to cover up the old, refrigerated cheese with a bit of new cheese. And he had only warmed it enough to melt the cheese and not warm it thru. The slice was luke warm at best with a soggy crust. Not a pleasant eat at all. I finished that slice and brought the other slice home hoping I can salvage my over-priced slice in my own oven. I don’t think it’s an unreasonable expectation to get freshly cooked pizza when they have just opened for the day. Needless to say, I will no longer eat at this place. Terrible customer service, prices AND food. No redeeming quality worth my money.

When Juan took his time to chat with his customers about the pizza business and just DFW in general, you know that you've arrived at the right spot. We were searching for a new pizza joint to try, that's within driving distance and that also serves beer . We came across New York Pizza & Pints and decided to gave it a try. Boy did we find ourselves in a complete surprise. First time in decades having NY style pizza, outside of the state of NY and New York Pizza & Pints hit all the marks. Pizzas were baked to perfection and in a timely manner, even as we ordered a gigantic 24" pie! When enjoying a slice of NY style pizza, ya gotta be able to fold it like a taco and eat it with one hand - and you can certainly do it with the slices here, even with slices from a 24" pie! While a 24" pie may seem huge at a glance, we were able to finish 3/4 of it, leaving just 2 slices to take to go. At first we were apprehensive to try New York Pizza & Pints, cuz it was located in the Allen Outlets, due to possible over stimulation for our son with ASD. But our son enjoyed his time here, so that is a huge plus for us. Thanks Juan, we'll be regulars! Keep doing what you're doing, cuz amigo, you're doing it right!

Their dough is sooo amazing! It was so tasty and had the perfect chew. Had garlic knots, and tried the gyro. It was a different take on gyro since it wasn't on a traditional pita but it was very good! I do prefer much less cheese and junk on my gyro. I get a gyro because of the meat, that's what I want to eat. They do seem to skimp on meat but it was overall a good portion of food. I had to scrape out most of the toppings which ended up like a side salad on my plate. Eating it was awkward so I forked the meat, pulled apart the bread, and ended up having the toppings as a "side salad". I only wished for a bit more meat to go with that bread so it could have been eaten together like a sandwich. My husband got a slice of pizza which he said he would definitely come back for. They also have a nice selection of beers on tap so we're gonna come back for pizza and beer for sure!

ok pizza. i more prefer ny style. (this is a varient) my wife however liked it, mainly the very thin crisp crust, thus i rounded up my review to 3 stars.

the most frustrating thing wss the lack of cheese. the pictures I'm posting are an EXTRA cheese pie, and its still not close to what a ny pie level shoukd be.

basically, its as if this place takes a normal ny suze pie and spreads it out to a jumbo huge pie. so the crust 8s extra thin (and crisp) almost cracker like, and the ingredients (such ss cheese are also scarce) - but might be sufficient if you used the same amount on a normal sized pie.

...only, the oue is expensive - priced for being jumbo, as if it wasnt "spread out" with thin everything.

ii spoke to them about the lack of cheese, even in the ectra cheese pie, and they said they can add more, but dint because it results in the crust becoming soggy. my personal comment on that: yes, probably true, but thats due to the super thin crust. if it was just normal "ny" thin, then it wouldn't have that issue.

As for the crust everyone raves about... yes, thin and crusp, again, not exactly ny style, but ok (except for the cheese issue explained above). however, for me, seemed like the dough lacked flavor. this is texas, not ny or Italy, so I'm probably being too fusy stating this observation. lol

the sauce was average. not bad, not remarkable either

the cheese... i wanna say it didn't strike me as good as Grande brand - my favorite (abd one of the most expensive) pizza cheeesesmost used at the highest quality ny style places. if someone from management is reading this review, abd you DO use Grande, then please feel free to respond with a correction.

bottom line - for my taste, there is better pizza around. but you know what? there is definitely plenty of worse around also. so this place is acceptable. so if your a pizza snob like me, and yiur with a group who wants to go to this place... you be fine. just dont expect to have your socks blown off.

p.s. - if any of you are from the DC area, this reminds a lot of the several "jumbo slice" places in Adams Morgan. same idea - giant pies and sices, but spread thin and skimp on ingredients. hi ratings there too (i suspect cause in a bar area, and people get "the...

This was our first time trying this place, and unfortunately, it’ll be our last — all because of one employee’s attitude. We walked in and ordered, and everything was fine until my friend took a cup for water. The male cashier immediately told her, “That’s not permitted, you need to ask.” Which is fair — and we had no issue paying the 25 cents. But the way he said it came off as patronizing and accusatory, like we were trying to steal something. It was unnecessarily harsh and set a weird tone for the rest of the visit. After we finished our food (which was genuinely great), we asked for a to-go box. My friend even joked, “I’m scared to ask for a to-go box,” because of how tense the vibe already was. And that’s when things went downhill. The cashier overheard and started lecturing us about how we should have requested and paid for the box when we ordered. He escalated the situation quickly — arguing with us, cutting off another staff member we were calmly speaking to, and even ignoring the customer he was helping to keep the argument going. He insisted we were just upset over paying 50 cents — which was never the issue. It was his confrontational attitude and the way he talked to us like we were a problem. He even said, “If you don’t like the service, just don’t come back,” and when we asked for a complaint book, he said they didn’t have one. One of the other employees (a woman) was understanding, and tried to defuse things. But even the girl putting the pizza in the oven looked over it and eventually told us to just leave. This happened around 5:25 PM, in case management wants to look into it. If you care about keeping customers, this is the kind of behavior that drives people away — and it’s a shame, because the food really was good. But good food isn’t enough when the service is this hostile. We won’t be returning, and we’ll be warning others to think twice too — especially if that cashier is...
