I was customer number one at this location's community opening day! I was warmly greeted at the door and was told about the numerous options available. All the line servers were friendly and also explained all the available choices, and what though today was free, on future visits, would incur an additional charge.
First choice was pita or bowl, and I chose a bowl. Then it grains, salad or mixed, then what mix. I chose a salad bowl of splendid greens & arugula.
Next station was dips where I could chose up to three. I chose the traditional hummus, harissa, & roasted eggplant.
Next up we're the proteins. I could do half & half or all of one. I went with just the harissa honey chicken, though all the options looked wonderful.
After the protein came the topping choices. I chose the fire roasted corn, tomato & cucumber, tomato & onions, Persian cucumbers, & avocado. The final station was for toppings & dressings. I chose feta cheese & skhug dressing on the side.
My bowl came with an optional warmed slice of pita on the side.
Let me start by saying that my overall experience and meal was fabulous and delicious. The food was fresh, spiced & cooked well. I was warned that the harissa, harissa honey chicken & the skhug were quite spicy, I found them medium spicy, but that being said, I do enjoy spice. The portions of protein and toppings all were more generous than I thought they were going to be, so that was a nice surprise. The scoops of dips are rather small, but honestly they were enough to enjoy as a spread on the pita. I'm happy that I got the dressing on the side because honestly the protein and toppings had so much flavor a dressing wasn't needed. I used it as a once in a while dipping sauce just because it was so delicious.
I also enjoyed that for dine-in there is real flatware, so I'm not eating with plastic ware. All the juices are made in house and I taste tested them all and they're fabulous!!
I'm looking forward to my...
Read moreMy first time ordering from Cava at the Haynes Bridge location was not good. I placed an order on their website and it didn’t even give me an option for curbside or pick up. It just gave scheduled times to choose from and pick up the order.
When I got the order home and looked in the bag they did not add my side of Greek vinaigrette. The blonde I ordered was so small that you could take 2 or 3 small bites and it’s gone. It definitely was not worth $2.00 and it didn’t even taste good. The blonde I’ve had at Gusto’s tastes 100% better and much larger than the one at Cava.
Here’s the kicker, when I was halfway through eating my gyro I bit down on a piece of plastic. I couldn’t believe it! I was very upset! I could have choked! This is unacceptable. I couldn’t even finish the rest of the gyro.
I called and spoke with the manager, gave him the details and all he could say was that he apologizes. He did not offer any kind of reimbursement or anything.
I tried Cava because it took the place of Zoe’s Kitchen which I love! Cava is not as good as Zoe’s Kitchen. Zoe’s Kitchen has better, tastier food, a larger selection of items to choose from and better quality. I have been going to Zoe’s Kitchen for a couple of years and never had any problems with them. I will not be eating...
Read moreI was excited to finally taste Cava, and I was very disappointed. I arrived at 9:40 pm. I did not get a warm greeting. I guess they may have been upset because they were closing at 10 pm, but that is not an excuse to make my pita sandwich sloppy. As the lady was making my pita sandwich, I mentioned it was my first time coming here. She ignored me as though I was not talking. Then she proceeded to drench my pita with some green liquid that got all over the place. I asked her if it was supposed to be that much liquid? She ignored me again. As she's ringing me up, I notice she was not about to wipe off my bag that had the messy green liquid on it. I told her, "Please wipe off my bag." That's when she finally got a paper towel and wiped it off. When I got home, the pita was so wet, my daughter had to wipe her pita off, but I threw mine away. I spent $27 on two wet pita sandwiches and a side of sweet potatoes. This was one of the worst experiences I've had, and I really heard great things about Cava. I don't think I'll return to a Cava after this. My other daughter mentioned they are really good and to try another location. I tried calling the restaurant this morning several times before posting this, but no one...
