McDonald's — Restaurant in Altoona

Went there with my grandkids a few weeks ago. Very disappointed with the whole experience. The front counter person was too busy chatting with another employee and kept messing up our order. Finally someone came and finished taking our order. The dining tables were filthy and we had to clean them ourselves, as I went to the counter to ask for them to get cleaned n I was told they couldn't spare anyone at that precise moment. The young lady had a bad attitude. The worst part of the whole experience was the food. Let's start with the shredded lettuce. I could count on one hand the amount of lettuce on each burger. The fish sandwich was cold n had no ingredients . Just a cold piece of fish n stale bread. The fries were saggy n oversalted, when I asked for no salt. When I went again to the counter, again I got a bad attitude n rudeness, while two other employees were in the back ground high-fying each other, like it was a joke. Will never recommend anyone there. Very bad service and horrible uneducated employees. When I asked for a manager. I was told all three were busy. Another employee pointed them out and they were all three standing there chatting and laughing not paying attention to anything going on around them. I have been to countless McDonald's locations across the country on road trips, and they are usually a reliable, clean, and quick stop. This location was the absolute worst I have ever experienced.

From the moment we walked in, it was clear things were not right. The dining area was dirty, with trash on the floor and sticky tables that clearly hadn't been wiped down in some time.

The service was painfully slow. There were only a few cars in the drive-thru and a handful of people inside, yet it took an extraordinarily long time to get our food. The staff seemed disorganized and unmotivated. The "fast" food was anything but.

The most serious issue, however, happened hours later. I got food poisoning. The nausea and stomach cramps were unmistakable and ruined the rest of our trip. While I can't prove it 100%, the timing and the overall condition of the restaurant make it the undeniable culprit.

This place is an utter disappointment and a stain on the McDonald's brand. I would strongly advise anyone, especially families on a road trip, to drive the extra few miles to the next rest stop. Avoid this location...

Okay. So I don't normally go to McDonald's, but today, I was craven it. I go to the drive threw, and let me tell you it was a horrible reminder of why I don't go to this McDonald's. I was met with terrible customer service. Now normally I'm not one to care. But the person who took my order didn't even tell me the total or to pull to the window. Just pure silence. I go to the window and was welcomed with a annoyed SIGH from the girl at the window. Who mumbled under her breath. I pay and go to the next window. And the person gives me my drinks and ask my order, she looked dumbfounded by my order. But goes back to the kitchen. Comes back with a bag with only half my order. Luckily I checked before pulling away from the window. And I had to wait for her to come back to tell her, I had no fries. She gave me a looks as tho I was in the wrong. I have had my far share of dealing with customers, but never in my life have I treated a customer such like this.. disrespectful and rude. Once I got home I also realized she gave me the completely wrong order. So. I will not be going back ever again....
