Chicken Salad Chick — Restaurant in Amarillo

If you order from Chicken Salad Chick, ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE LEAVING. Today I ordered three trios for pick up from Chicken Salad Chick for a special luncheon with friends that had been planned for days. I was in charge of our food. I chose to pick up from what has been a favorite-Chicken Salad Chick. When I arrived at my destination, after picking up my food, I realized that the soup for all three trios was missing. I was so frustrated, because one third of our lunch was missing, which made for a very meager lunch. I was 25 munutes from CSC and couldnt return there pick up the MISSING soups. I thought to call the restaurant with expectations of them offering to do whatever to maje things right. When I called, the manager would not speak to me. She told the young man that answered the phone to refund me $12. for the soup. That was it. Her lack of attention to my problem insulted me and left me with a very bitter feeling for the management of Chicken Salad Chick. Our entire lunch was ruined and I was so embarrassed. Had the manager taken the time and spoken directly to me and offered to comp the meal, I would be writing a completely different review and telling how great Chicken Salad Chick is and that they took responsibility and made things right for their mistake. However, $12 refund didn't even come close yo fixing my problem and honestly felt like a slap in my face. I don't think the manager gave a rip about my ruined meal. Lesson learned-ALWAYS CHECK...and don't exoect the management at Chicken Salad...

I will start with the atmosphere. Stunning, great pictures of Amarillo's iconic landscape. Soft green and bold words on the wall. The choice of music is smooth and pleasing.

Service- Beauty was pleasant, soft-spoken, and yes, you can see her nervousness in taking orders. The table we sat at was out of napkins; however, the server who delivered our food quickly got them replaced. Once we were done eating, two employees asked if they could take our trays.

Food - The food is decent, but not $36.91 for two sandwiches—the chicken BLT on the croissant bread could not be toasted. The chicken salad had no flavor. You had to add salt and pepper to give it something. My wife could not eat the chicken tortilla soup; it needs help again with some seasoning. I had the spicy pimento cheese BLT on wheatberry bread toasted, and It was good; the spiciness gave it what the sandwich needed. I can tell the bacon is precooked, but the lettuce and tomatoes were excellent. My side was mac and cheese with some salt and pepper was good. The noodles were perfect. For dessert, we got a sample sugar cookie. It was the right sweetness after the meal, and I purchased the Choc Rice Crisp, suitable for pre-made.

My husband loved the food. The young man that took my order was very pleasant. He also was very helpful with suggestions on the menu. It was a couple behind us. Since we ordered our food to go. I knew my order was in the window. She took the couple behind us their food. The woman looked right at me and began to talk to other workers and then proceeded to take the next order that was put in the window next to my to go box to another table. A young man walked in and she helped him. Which was a to go DoorDash order, that was next to mine and she still did not give me my order. She walked off. The only reason I finally got my order is because the young man in the window shoved the order in her face and tossed the receipt over the box. Thanks to him, she finally gave me my order. Thank you to that young man by the way. Due to the treatment that I received from that woman. I don't care how much my husband enjoyed the food. I'm not going back. I felt extremely unwelcome.
