Finding Hacienda Meche isn’t exactly difficult, but the layout of the strip makes it feel tucked away, and there’s no clear exterior signage beyond small white letters on the glass door. It’s not obvious where to walk in, which sets a slightly confusing first impression.
Upon entering, I expected to be greeted and seated, but instead I saw a man in a baseball cap and T-shirt behind the bar chatting closely with three guests. No hostess stand, no signage, no direction. Two other staff members stood at the far end of the bar, simply staring rather than acknowledging us. We ended up seating ourselves.
Menus and drinks came quickly, along with chips and salsa. The horchata was fine nothing special and the water tasted normal. The chips, while seemingly homemade and flavorful, were served cold, and the salsa was clearly refrigerated before being brought out, which made the whole starter feel uninviting.
Our server was polite enough but lacked warmth or engagement. After ordering, it took about 15 minutes for our food to arrive, and we had to flag down the server for refills and more chips. Unfortunately, parts of the meal were cold particularly the “easier” items while the longer-cooking dishes were hotter. The overall flavor of the food was actually decent, but there were concerning moments: in one quesadilla and in a grilled chicken and rice plate, there was a strange, gristly bite that made both me and another guest gag. That same guest felt sick afterward and was unwell the following morning.
The menu doesn’t clearly indicate spice levels, and several dishes were heavier on spice than expected. A few plates were also noticeably greasy.
To top things off, gratuity was automatically added to both checks for our party of six which is common but there was no mention of this policy on the menu, in writing, or verbally from the staff. It would’ve been nice to be told beforehand.
In short, Hacienda Meche has potential with its flavors, but the service, presentation, and quality control left much to be desired. With better hospitality, attention to temperature, and menu clarity, it could be a solid spot but as it stands, I left more disappointed...
Read moreWe were really excited to try this place. My wife and I decided to spend our afternoon date here and it was a giant disappointment.
When we walked in there were two other tables, so not busy at all. The bartender sat us and it took awhile for the waitress to come take our drink order. I ordered a draft Dos Equis and my wife ordered a sprite. Five minutes later the waitress brought my wife a squirt and myself a bottled dos. We didn’t say anything about this because we didn’t want to come off as picky.
We ordered an appetizer, and then told the waitress we were ready to order the main meals. That’s when she just walked off without taking our order. She never came back to the table after that. We waited and waited and she never came. She walked by a few times but ignored us.
At this point it was about ten minutes since we ordered. I set a five minute timer on my phone, and it went off I left $5 for my beer and we left, having never seen the waitress again.
It was a Sunday afternoon, we were one of three tables, and I still haven’t the slightest idea what was going on. We won’t be trying this...
Read moreFirst time and last time unfortunately. The place is beautiful very esthetic. But... the service was horrible. It was a table of 7 and the waitress only brought us one basket of chips and only ONE small salsa for 7 people. We asked for more and she charged us the chips. The prices are ridiculously expensive. For 3 people it was $70 that's that we didn't have alcoholic beverages I had water and ONE tostada. We needed drink refills and she didn't come to get us. Mind you the place was empty we were the only table and our food took a long time and the service sucked and was slow we constantly had to ask for stuff and again we were the only table. So between thr service sucking and the food being outrageously expensive we won't be back. I've never been to a place when it'd a big party and they make us share one basket and one salsa. And being charged for more chips that's just weird. Also there aguas are not natural it's all just the powder kind. For what you pay the portion I'd very small. Food was okay but not...
