Walking in here was like stepping into a 90s Italian restaurant. The style of food seems that way too. Prior to going I looked at pictures of the food, and avoided the pizza (which didn't look very good) and avoided any pasta with cheese on it. It looked like they drown their dishes in cheese, which is gross to me. They bring out bread to your table, but the dough doesn't seem very good quality... Like it reminds me of frozen Pillsbury dough, but not sweet. They were pretty bland too, and the marina for dipping was also bland. I ordered the penne ala vodka. The sauce itself had decent flavor, but it was a little runny for that type of sauce. Also, there were tiny bits of ham in it. I looked it up and apparently some people do that in vodka sauce, but I thought it was weird, haha. Based on all this I would've given 4 stars, because it was fine for what it is, but I went to the bathroom partway through my meal, and the smell was horrendous. There was a stench as I approached the hallway of the bathrooms that would have ruined my appetite if I went back there prior to eating. I literally had to plug my nose while I was in the bathroom because it made me gag. I have no idea if this is a one-time problem or what it was, but it ruined the rest of my visit as I couldn't eat anymore after that. No one was sitting in the section that was closest to the bathrooms, so I'm sure that's why. The smell wasn't sewage-like, but it was really bad. All that to say, I won't...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place. On the outside, it looks like an upscale Italian restaurant. Inside, it's more like a local mom-and-pop place. The pizzaria red plastic coke and clear water cups reinforce that feeling, which is alright. The piped music is kind of cliche', and slightly too loud for background music. Their bread and marinara is delicious and uniquely shaped. I jokingly called them Italian baked or Italian pretzels. Their mozzarella sticks are comparable to grocery store frozen. Bland. I got their pasta sampler, and it came in the metal plate it was cooked in, as did my wife's eggplant parmesan. We weren't sure which was which. Both plates looked (and tasted) like a ton of marinara and cheese. I could only find pasta about halfway through my food, and recognized the ravioli because it was round. Again, the food was very plain. I wonder how small my mask would have been without the cheese. We sat by the kitchen pass, and I got to see other meals come up. Many liked better than ours, so it might have been luck of the draw. But looking again, they looked like they were dumped from Pam to plate into piles. Not bad, but not...
Read moreI ordered takeout on a Friday night. Although I ordered half cheese and half mediterranean pizza (pictured), they charged me the full price for the mediterranean pizza. I also ordered a Cesar salad and Tortellini a la Panna (also pictured). The latter was great and I would definitely order again! The salad though was lacking since the croutons were stale. The freshly grated parmesan cheese and dressing somewhat made up for that though. When I ordered they said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. After arriving 18 minutes later, I still had to wait another 10 minutes but I had asked them to add a slice of cheesecake to my order. I enjoyed the live music (guitar) while waiting. All employees were wearing masks but no customers were but the seating at tables appeared to be intentionally spaced out. When I finally opened my to-go bag, I saw they had also included garlic knots and marinara sauce free of charge in addition to the regular take out plastic ware packs. Overall, I enjoyed the meal, appreciated the take out experience, and would order (or eat in) if I am in...
